I was a hard-core anti battery leader but got blessed when my installer had no non-hybrid inverters in stock so had to fit a hybrid. Two months later, I now own 3 batteries...haha.....I cant imagine solar without batteries now. Even if they dont make 100% financial sense, in my case they certainly do! It is so self-rewarding in days like today to have full batteries from pv production and we are in January! Yeap eddi is great but.....

I produced 9kwh with 4wkp in Meath SSE today.
Cloudy afternoon in Wicklow. 6.9kwh today after 18.2 yesterday. 8.7wkp
Thats from 8kw of panels facing almost sse. No shading.
3kw produced from a 4.4kwp system.
Roll on the longer days with lots of sunshine!
9.6kw today, my biggest day so far from install date (9 days ago). 7.4kw Meath split across all sides except north.
I keep hoping that if I mention every day that I've shading from the trees I'll trim them eventually 😂
Enjoy the trees, it's not worth trimming them if only Winter shading, wait a year and see how they shade through the 12 months
Thing is I'm looking to lower my gas usage and in the winter I need as many kw as possible.
I've an AC that I use for heating, this is 250% efficient compared to a heater that's 100%.
It's a decent size garden so there's plenty of other trees around.
Just passed the 300kwh yield for January.
It was 220kwh for December.
Onward we go.

It is a split AC, more broken than functional but after 15 years I can't ask more of it.
Will be replaced with a multi split unit soon, one upstairs in the hallway and one in the extension.
Nowadays they make them very efficient, 5-600% efficiency for a good unit. Search for SCOP rating > 5.
They have essentially same efficiency as air to water heat pumps but without the huge cost of installation.
Actually exporting to the grid today. Battery was charged overnight as per usual however I was drawing 3-4kW by midday. Battery was in the high 80s and the BMS throttling charge rate. I've exported a total of 50kWh to the grid since the install in September 9th - 4kWh of that was today!
I turned down the charge rate overnight.
Think it might be my first day over 10kwh since system installed early November.. 4kwp south east 3kwp north west

Mitsubishi and Daikin are the brands he installs. Cop value seems to be great than 5.
A split unit would be my ideal scenario - a bit like what you where saying above.
1 in the extension/kitchen
2 in the landing area

5kWh today. A poor month.
14.4kWh today. 204kWh for the month (188kWh for Jan 22).
5.7 kWh today. Heated the hot tank back to full - to be honest the gas heating was on last night and it probably more of a top up - Eddi says it took 1.2kwh and I also sent 1.9kwh back to the grid with my backwards spinning meter :)
Generated 64.5kwh for the month , exported 15.5kwh- not too bad considering my panels werent commissioned until the 14th January.
Im happy with that. Cant wait to see what I get in a few weeks with the better generating weather.
First time to comment since we went live on Friday evening.
24kWh produced today from a 10.4 system pointed 10 degrees off South. Unfortunately only 1/3 of the batteries are currently working so the first one filled quickly. I used the Eddi to heat the water with the excess and also had a plug in oil heater for the rest.

Bear in mind SCOOP is a rating given per country so in a colder country ratings will be less as they are less eficient in lower temps. Same unit will show different ratings in different countries.
Was looking at Mitsubishi and Daikin too, I've my eyes on a Mitsubishi split unit, will share the models tomorow, think it's pretty efficient.
Not too shabby... 137kWh in January from a 4.5kWh system on a 3kW inverter down in Cork. And that included a few days of downtime in the middle (during mist/fog!)

Just went live on Monday with a 8.0kwp system, 4.0kwp west (~ 250 degrees) and 4kwp east (~ 70 degrees) with a 5kw battery. 5kw on Monday and 8.3 yesterday. Based near Mullingar.
I'm looking at these 2 at the moment, I might put a ceiling one and a normal wall unit if possible.
