Nobody is being forced to put their pronouns in their email signatures. It's a bunch of cranks getting upset that some people made their own choice to do it.
Bingo, trying to force someone to use them and trying to force someone to speak in a certain way is something some people will take issue with.
One poster cited " muslim prayer " I have worked with muslims in the past, one muslim I worked with would briefly pray in another section of the building if it were quiet at work. No one at work at took any issue with this as it was a private thing just Involving one person, and no one else.
Some people may recall Hallifax added pro noun badges for some staff last year, but here is the catch it was optional if someone wanted a wear a badge or not thankfully it wasn,t compulsory, as it should never be compulsory to try compel someone speak in a certain way be it a school teacher or people in the general workplace =.

Honestly though, it makes no difference to me. As far as I am concerned, no amount of voluntary work or glowing character references will absolve the Burkes of being a family of homophobic, transphobic, hate mongering assholes. (And I'm being polite).
I was listening to a debate this evening over an ongoing argument over same sex marriages being blessed in the church, Anglican church as it happens.
It always goes like this, the church lays down the instructions, rules if you like, as dictated by a divine creator, where the rules come from. So it's believers have no choice but to take the same position as the divine creator they believe in.
So who is the worse homophobe? The person who isn't religious say an atheist homophobe, or people like the Burke's who are clearly evangelical Christians doing the Lords good work?

As I said earlier he can hardly publish his source or provide a link if it doesn't exist.
One of the good things about Boards is
that if people relate some personal experience in adding to a discussion you take it as read.
If we are to start doubting each other's word over non consequential matters like this we might as well give up and go to Twitter where nobody really listens.
At the end of the day whether there are some people in Castlebar who have time for the Burkes or not doesn't matter a hill of beans to the overall discussion.

Here we have someone who just wants to get on with their life as best as they can put into a position where they are pressured to conform with something that they neither agree with nor believe in, someone said in a earlier post " live and let live " but that also Includes not trying to force your beliefs onto others and not trying to compel someone to speak in a certain way as is clearly the case in this woman,s case.
And like I said, it was the poster themself who said their account was verifiable.
The lesson to be learned here, is on Boards, don't say something is "verifiable", unless it is, because you can be sure you will be called out on it.

That story's quite odd.
They have to state their pronouns but they can only choose he or she? That sounds to me like someone forcing their views on the issue and trying to reinforce traditional gender roles. If the university were really interested in accepting people's different pronouns, they'd come up with a longer list of different ones or include a 'enter your own' option.
It sounds like either an unimaginative type who wants to shitstir about being forced to use pronouns (any screenshot of the offending email/letter?) or someone at the university trying to 'own the libs' by making it an issue and only providing two options. The whole thing stinks.

Of note they said "she/her he/him etc". Presumably the "etc" part means that there were more options. I'm not quite sure what they are being pressured to conform to. The English language? Pronouns have been part of the language pretty much as long as it has existed. Do people really have a problem with letting others know which set of pronouns they prefer?

Perhaps you should take more care to make yourself understood. Or better yet, perhaps you should reread the post where you were threadbanned.
