I can't believe that as its been in the headlines for 6 months.
He is refusing to obey a high court injunction and is in contempt of that order. That is quite a serious issue and as such he has a fine everyday he continues to be in contempt.

It's always the case with such people that "doing what God wants" always perfectly aligns with what they wanted to do anyway.
The important thing to keep in mind, is that he isn't in trouble for refusing to call a student by different pronouns. He's in trouble for absolutely everything that he did and continues to do after that.
A revenue audit might well be in order.
The problem with these so called "christians" is that they have their own version of what god is or wants and it's nearly always in contrast to what was taught by Christianity. Fundamental Christian values such as "love thy neighbour", "do onto others as you wish done onto yourself", "be not of ill judgement onto others", etc gets lost in the mix.
I've said it before, but more often than not it's alleged "christians" that tend to be the most unchristian people I've ever met. They're generally boiling over with contempt and scorn for their fellow man, despite what their god has told them to believe.

They're used to shouting in courtrooms and street corners but they're looking at serious legal trouble now unless they cop on.
Bad enough that both Ammi and Enoch have left themselves virtually unemployable in their careers but now they're looking at bankruptcy or prison time.
I honestly don't think they care about fines. He's already been ok with prison, which is where he'll end up for non-payment of fines.
He probably sees this as his Job moment, his suffering that God is going to give him.
I have not followed this story in anyway shape or form, so what crimes has this guy committed, what is this all about, what charges is he up on.

The easy way to solve for that though is to escalate the fines - Double it every single day he refuses to comply.
Daily doubles would get into stupid money territory very quickly indeed.
