huh?
Bloated. A lot of air. I don't think his tummy is fat.
Sabina may have to burp him.
ffs
what are you on!
Ah operation shame the nation back again. A tired old format, boring and stale and I refuse to watch entertainment made out of other peoples misery. The experts with their rude and inappropriate comments, and the skinny Thomas to present it. No thanks.
why do they never do a review of people from x years ago? Hmmmm I wonder I really don’t. Unrealistic contrived ould bullshite.
On boards.ie.
It's changed a lot. There's no nasty comments now. 14 different ways of measuring progress, not just weight loss.
That statement was correct 7 years ago. You obviously haven't watched any this year. A lady told to stop exercising for fear of burnout.
He's been dining well on the taxpayer funds. Usually people get thinner the older they get.
I'm enjoying it. I didn't get to watch last year, so I don't know when the format changed.
I like all the leaders, and it's nice to see ones from previous years featuring too.
But it's okay to call Kathryn Thomas skinny is it?
Get over yourself, the people on it are there voluntarily and want to lose weight. Being overweight is bad for your health and is a drain on our health services, these people are being proactive and there's nothing inappropriate or rude here.
I dont have a problem with the concept of the show overall, I think it encourages people to live more healthy & influences many in that regard. The format of it is outdated though, a bit lazy & Kathryn Thomas is hard to take. A new presenter would go along way
Enjoy watching shame the nation, I shall not be bothering with low brow car crash tv that takes advantage of overweight people and whatever trauma they have in their lives to boost ratings
How do you know they never do a review of people from x years ago?
How is it 'taking advantage' of overweight people?
Mod: stick to the topic of the TV show please.
are there only miserable negative people on boards now?
I think it's a great show and it has a very positive impact. It's helping men especially to go to their GPs and get their blood pressure etc. checked and it's helping getting people out and moving more so that can only be a good thing.
I really like that aren't focusing on the weight as much this year. That was absolutely the right thing to do as focusing mainly on weight can have negative consequences and especially for women weight can fluctuate regardless of diet. Yes, weight is important but there are other markers too such as sleep quality, energy, mood and strength.
I'm enjoying it too. I usually catch up with it at the weekends so haven't watched this week's yet.
I like seeing the former leaders featuring too.
Careful now!
I think the general thrust of the thread is to just criticise it ( without watching) and the presenters/experts who are supposedly too thin or too fat!
Just caught up, they are all doing really well.
I remember that leader from 2016 that they spoke to on the show.
Great to see her being so positive about her OT experience and looking and feeling so healthy.
Also loved the bit where Marie was with the school kids, when they were asking questions and one young lad said 'how's your mam?' 😁
just caught up on the most recent episode - fair play to Marie..
They aren't pushing them hard enough.
Is tonight the last episode?
This is probably the least interested in OT I have been, only watched one or two episodes.
Just haven't been drawn to any of them and there's only one fella.
Buffini bae 😍
Eddie is well out of shape. 'Give it everything in the last 200 metres' and he trots over the line!
The 'aren't we all deadly after 8 weeks' last episode is a bit cringey.
Now they're good people and hope they keep the good work up.
A few years ago John Delaney would have given a tribute!
I'm sorry but no way can a principal be burned out. That's why teachers should need to work in the private sector first.
Like the school isn't even open for about 4 months of the year!
I would have thought like you. But having worked at a few various jobs at this stage of my life I think differently.
You never know what any job is like until you do it. You're only looking on from the outside.
I know what's involved and know people working the job. They had mid term just last week for example...only came back from xmas holidays 6 weeks ago like. They're barely in the job long enough to get sick of it.
These people wouldn't survive the private sector now.
