Sadly for the same reason that this thread exists. People are interested in what is happening, so they report on it. As long as people want to know about it the media will be there to record it.
Theres several problems with all of that
1. Enochs hateful public campaigning against lgbt people and lgbt rights - making disgusting hateful comments about David Norris, Katherine Zappone, gay men in general, marriage equality. He is a homophobic bigot.
2 The problem here is that Enoch couldnt live and let live. Enoch was not in any way willing to look at how the school could have facilitated him or his disagreements with school policy.
3 Not sure why but your posts here continuously ignore points 1 and 2, play down Enochs hatemongering, play down Enochs action, absolve Enoch of all responsibility of his actions.

It's a catch 22. It's newsworthy because it has been reported on. And if they didn't report it then they'd be accused of bias. And because of social media it's easy for it to climb to the top of our feeds. A true metric would be how many column inches it gets and where in a paper the page is located.
One thing that annoys it is when they say he was fired over a trans student. He wasn't. He was fired because of his behavior. They should make clear in every article that it has nothing to do with the trans student and is wholly dependent on his actions.

An unemployed man in his 30s hanging around a school is weird and creepy. So is defending it.

What a gobshite this fella is, if he is trying to make a point about his beliefs on trans people, thenhe has made an absolute haems of it. He was sacked because he verbally abused his boss in front of a load of staff and students and is now showing up to his former workplace in breach of a court order thinking he is Jordan Peterson
Why don't the media ignore him and just leave him standing around. The more air time he gets the greater his ego gets.
I've seen them on the main st of castlebar. They sing xmas carols at xmas. But in-between the carols they scream stuff about god at the top of their voices through a really loud megaphone.
