It hasn't been reported that he was charged. If he wasn't charged then he can't be kept in custody and there is no bail. If he was arrested but not charged as it appears to be the case, it suggests to me that they likely arrested him for breach of the peace. They have to submit a file to the DPP and get a direction from them before they can charge for that particular offence. It seems even more likely as it appears he was in the principal's office when the Guards were with him and likely arrested him, doubt it would fall under a public place for the public order act to be utilised.

What you are describing is station bail which is what happens when you are released pending charges. The gardai can require funds and/or conditions in a manner similar to the court.
Simply a hero. Ireland has armies of well paid men and women making a living off the Christian religion and not one has it in them to speak up.

The purpose is irrelevant and it’s no necessarily part of the order. The lawful occupants of the premises sought a court order that he not enter their premises. The reason why they sought to do so is not relevant. If the original order was drafted to preclude him irrespective of his employment status then they might be in a position to seek a further committal order. However, as was made clear in the High Court in December, he would only be committed to prison if the judge felt it would coerce him into complying with the order. The judge threw some significant doubt on that. The law just has gaps when dealing with people like him. He cannot simply be locked up or imprisoned with no charge. Habeus corpus still has effect.
How much has this clan cost the country? From court costs, to gardai action. Repellent. He is now simply a creepy man hanging around outside of a school..

Well whatever about the outcome of a file sent to the DPP the guy has now blown any chance he has of ever teaching in a school again. He won't be able to obtain Garda Vetting over this. It will come up in the specified information disclosure even if he doesn't get a conviction.

She's very likely correct. Thankfully we have prudent gun laws in this Country, which limit unnecessary firearms in private hands.
However if this were America, the school would be like a fortress, with armed security contractors and metal detectors.

Station bail: A person arrested and brought to a Garda station can be charged by way of charge sheet and released on station bail to appear before a court at a specific date and time. They may be required to lodge money before being released from Garda custody.

How do you know how far they would go? He's been jailed for months which he seemingly didn't mind. Anyone else wouldn't want to be spending indefinite time in Mountjoy. That alone tells you that there is something very strange going on there.
