Those Germans are unbelievable. They are saying they are not opposed to supplying tanks but want others to do so also?
How stupid do they think we are? Poland is willing, but is being blocked by Germany. So this bleep thinks we can't see the nonsense of this chicken or the egg rubbish they are pulling?
So because they are blocking others from supplying tanks, they can cite a lack of other countries supplying tanks as justification for them not doing so?
They don't just support Orcs they have turned into them. This insane logic could have come straight from that piece of filth, Lavrov.
A Ukrainian political scientist believes Putin contacted Scholz early in the new year and successfully threatened him.
Why Germany has abruptly changed its position on Leopard tanks for Ukraine: political analyst on possible influence of Putin.
Russian President Vladimir Putin may be the probable reason for Germany's sudden change of position, namely that of its Chancellor Olaf Scholz, regarding the transfer of Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
Political analyst Mykola Davydyuk said this.
"I have a certain strong feeling that Scholz was greeted on New Year's Day by Putin. And he gave a very tough ultimatum," the analyst said.
According to him, some factors have significantly influenced the chancellor's position. Davidiuk recalled what Scholz's position was on supporting Ukraine at the end of 2022.
"Remember what he was like before the New Year: he came out on top in terms of assistance, asked forgiveness to Ukrainians, promised to help, did not wish Putin to win, saw Ukraine win," he recalled.
The expert also stressed that with the beginning of 2023, Scholz said that he could not transfer tanks to Ukraine, did not agree to give permission to supply them to other countries, there was no talk of additional weapons equipment now either.
Call their bluff?
The US should send at least one M1 Abrams tank to Ukraine to push Germany to provide its own Leopards
The chair of the US Congress' House Foreign Affairs Committee, Republican Michael McCaul, said this in an interview with ABC News.
“If we announced we were going to give Abrams tanks, just one ... what I hear is that Germany is waiting for us to take the lead. Then they would put Leopard tanks in. And remember, there are about 10 countries that have Leopard tanks, but they need Germany to sign off,” he noted.
He emphasized that he supports sending Abrams tanks from the US, even if there are only a few of them, in order to unblock Ukraine's receipt of Leopard tanks from Germany, Poland and other allies.
“There's gonna be a winter offensive by the Russians. They need these tanks on the eastern flank in the Donbas. They also need the ATACMS, the longer-range artillery, to hit Crimea where the Iranian drones are,” McCaul added.

Probably not worth delving into this too much more, but the deposits in Europe in general are far more compartmentalised and harder to access. Even when it was allowed they were never that successful.
Not everything is a nefarious plot by Russia and we give them too much credit sometimes.
The Uk is also suitable, as are parts of Ireland, but it's getting a bit OT.
What would Putin have threatened him with.
Do you think he has some dirt on him?
It's off topic but the last and next 50 pages can be summed up in:
"Russia move 50 feet for 20k dead.
Germany not sending something
We'll all be nuked.
Clare Daly and Wallace are some dose.
Russian forces starving in a hole because some one up the chain sold their food."
I have a family member who works in a majors exploration dept. Fracking in Europe is considered a waste, the head of BP said as much in 2014 approx.
There are fields where estimates of 1300 trillion cubic feet, Bowland-Hodder shale, basically the north of England/Midlands were reported, 40 times the entire Russian, 20% of the entire global reserve of known Gas, such lunatic figures were regular occurrences, their was a small field in Staffordshire down for Billions of cubic feet, replicated all over Europe.
If the Tories thought that one shale formation in England, never mind all the others reported from Britain, would make England richer than OPEC, nothing would have stopped it
The Govts of Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary have had no real problem with fracking and little opposition, they have shale reserves that would make them each global powerhouses, that was until the rigs started testing.
The kicker is that the oil major geologists laugh at the reserves, the test wells all come up duds. They understand why they are duds, geology. Nevermind the industry challenges, Political opposition is no 4 or 5 on the list and the smallest challenge of the 5.
With regards to ourselves, 10 to 20 trillion in shale reserves are estimated in the Lough Allen basin, my farm is in North West Cork, shale wise part of the Clare Basin. I would let fracking operations start today.
Shale in Europe will only ever be a tiny player. In most of Europe it isn't a prospect and you won't get companies to bother trying even where society and State beg.
..
Scholz was described as a doctrinal Marxist in the 80s.
As pointed out he a history of access to East Germany, others could never have.
His position for Russia is ideological.
So much for donations to collective security
No such thing as a free lunch
Is modern day Russia a marxist state? Or is Scholtz a sentimentalist? Hard to keep up with the crazy theories in this thread.
Scholz is a pacifist. Not the ideal trait in a time of war but it doesn't make him some Russia stooge.
Good thing Germany is not at war.
I guess the Russian airlines can kiss goodbye to any chance of getting a post-war EU Airworthiness Certificate for a long looong while…..oh well.
(Also, any attempt to fly their stolen aircraft beyond Russia will likely get them seized unless they are very picky about the destination.)
Abrams tanks on the table.
Looks like the reports of a fresh Russian offensive against Ukrainian positions at Vuhledar has been corroborated. They had only minor success for high casualties last time they tried this.
Brilliant. I initially echoed the statement that they are thirsty complex tanks, but with retrospect, who cares, if Ukr wants them and needs them, send them. It will also be a large morale boost and this could be the move to open the flood gates in terms of modern tanks going to Ukr.
I wouldn't be all that surprised if it is an announcement on paper only that never really materialises beyond token numbers. The US are correct about the Leopard making far, far more sense, but if this is what's needed to get Germany to cop on then so be it.
Why does Ukraine need these types of tanks like the Leopard or Abrams?
i haven’t heard of Russia using superior tanks then Ukraine already had available.
Ukraine has said it has an urgent need for heavier armour in its war against Russia’s invasion. Kyiv has limited availability of tanks, most of them from the Soviet or post-Soviet era... While Ukraine has won significant victories – in the battle for Kyiv at the beginning of the war as well as in Kharkiv oblast and around Kherson in the south – it is hampered by a shortage of tanks to support its operations and faced by Russian forces increasingly fielding more modern and capable T-90s.
It's like as if a superior tank would give them an advantage... although, that might just be crazy talk.
Where was Russias advantage using T 90 tanks?
hmmm, I wonder if there's any Ukrainian tank aces that would be the equal of the likes of Wittman or Knispel.
Are Leopards/Challengers/Abrams the new wunderwaffen?
Eastern Europe could flood the Ukraine with tanks if they wanted.
I believe the US and Germany are sceptical on how the Ukraine will Utilise these modern tanks.
im guessing these tanks are only as good as the people who operate them.
I know in Germany there are questions if the equipment that has already been sent has been accounted for.
Yes they are compared to the Soviet era armor they are currently stuck with,
No Russian tank has defeated an Abrams, Challenger or Leopard anywhere over the last few decades,
One Abrams or Challenger could in theory kill up to 50 tanks or it runs out of ammo which ever comes first ,now take 20 Abrams and add Bradley vehicles to the mix with infantry support, they would have a huge edge over Russian forces
I'd have far more confidence in the ability of the Ukranians to use the Leopards than the German armed forces, who seem to stagger from one embarrassment to another.
As for properly accounting for weapons, the Germans cant even do that themselves and they aren't fighting an existential war.
Decision on lepoards moving quickly
Free the lepoards
I'm no big expert, but Abraams and Leopards are generally better than Eastern European tanks. Ukr's doctrine seems to favour quality over quantity, which has so far been working for them.
Second point, I don't think so at all. Germany is just terrified of taking "big steps" against Ru, as they've demonstrated every step of the way in this conflict. As for the US, officials recently expressed concern that the Abraams with too complex and fuel thirsty (there are probably other underlying concerns we aren't aware of), however if today's news is true, and it's going ahead, then it demonstrates they have faith in Ukr to utilise the tanks. The Ukrainians have so far been excellent with the wide array of weaponry they've received so far, learning quickly, adapting, putting it to good use.
Not sure what you mean by the last point.
The puma isn't a tank , but like all new military vehicles they suffer development issues, the puma has realitively Minor issues which are being fixed, the Bradleys , warriors and other IFVs suffered similar teething issues ,the British ajax is even worse with no current date for repairs or an actual date to enter service .
It's not just a German issue unfortunately
I thought your question was serious and was all set to reply, and then I saw the second one. 30 posts, should have known.
The US has personnel in Ukraine auditing what they have sent and they seem happy that there have been no irregularities.
Someone might get some traction with accusing Ukraine of planting huge tracts of land with opium poppies and that they are now the source of most of the heroin entering the EU. I hear there are huge coca crops there too, supplying most of the cocaine in the EU too. Then there's the human trafficking and the prostitution rings, the money laundering.
I can't imagine why anyone would support Ukraine in this war.
These questions in Germany - they wouldn't happen to be from men with Russian accents, maybe the ones who assaulted the two young Ukrainian women in the train station? Got any links?
with all the accusations been thrown around in this post I see why it’s best not to use boards anymore.
Your post count and I mean yours does not make you anymore credible then someone with 30 posts.
I will go elsewhere like a majority of posters and leave this site. Your post count is extremely impressive. Amazeballs.
What, no links? /s
