Beautiful surroundings but I can see why you might want to move with two babies to consider, it would not need too much global warming for the river to be up to that plastic covered bank. Presumably they are trying to kill weeds in hope of growing grass, it won't work and will be impossible to cut. Maybe cover it with a rampant creeper like rubus tricolour, though that can create its own problems. Best solution for there though, but they would have to remove the membrane.
Picture 50, would you not put a step on those 2 doors? How do people not mill themselves using them.
Yeah, seriously, WTF with the furniture. They've managed to look every spacious bedroom look small and cramped.
are they unusually high? they look about the same height from the ground as my front door.
I had a good laugh at this one. I love the EA’s humour:
The property comprises a detached single storey bungalow in good decorative order and condition.

Maybe I'm wrong but doors like that I always seen with a step
I didn't know what you were talking about looking at the first few pictures. Gets bad, quick
I would think they didnt have any money left to put in the steps. It looks like this started out being a dream house but then they ran out of money to finish it properly or maintain it. The grounds dont seem to have been finished at all. The decor and furniture dont do the house justice either.
Lord thats bad. It hope nobody was living in that recently.
Anyone for a lighthouse on the Wild Atlantic Way? You'll need a big cheque...

yes please. let me check my piggy bank.
I would love it. Where I am I am way isolated and the nearest house a couple of fields away. But yes that nearest house is TOO near for me.
I really fancy a lighthouse.
My absolute dream... One of the little outbuildings would do me fine... Just.. sheer heaven. On a small offshore island now so
LOVE the Clare Island one though.
I'll go splits with you!
I'm obsessed with the sea and lighthouses this would be my dream. And in Clew Bay to boot!!😍
ETA - above was posted before I even clicked on the link. Wowzers!!! It's a beautful house, never mind its lighthouseishness, or location..... but it'd be like keeping the Forth Bridge painted, you'd get to the end just in time to start all over again....
The first ( but probably only) thing to go would be that picture in pic 19...... imagine waking up with that behind you every day.....
I think you guys are forgetting it's on an island. I like peace and quiet too but it would have to be on the mainland(Westport or Newport area same clew bay view) as some times I get it in my head to go for a drive or go to Galway or Dublin. Not even planned just on the spur of the moment like fúck it I'm going up to Dublin.
Plus you'd have to plan shopping and such. Not for me at all. Now if you are rich and own a helicopter well then yes an island location is good for you.
Out here I have that. What impresses me the most here is the total utter darkness. NB you would not get that at the Clare Lighthouse of course...
Just BLACK... and hearing the ocean in the darkness ..I am in Clew Bay too..They say there are 365 islands in Clew Bay..
But a lighthouse has always appealed hugely to me to the point of near obsession.. drop me in a huge huge bag of knitting yarn and I am happy for as long as need be..
use that room for guests you dont want to stay too long.
I am aware it is an island. that is part of the appeal.
But compared with a few decades ago it is easy enough. A good ferry service ... Cars can be parked at the mainland quay... and off you go to town or wherever. It is all part of the very distinctively unique island life. And folk adapt..oh and google Clare Island shops.. It is a really well provided island ... Helicopter? Ah yes the Rescue Helicopter for medical emergencies..Off to Castlebar in around 20 minutes.. Faster than any road access.
I researched Clare Island very fully but it was too populated and busy for me.
Id say the back garden has been flooded on more than one occasion
..
They must have been king of the Celtic Tiger with all that decking. There's enough there to have a tennis court on it.
That Clare Island lighthouse is priced for the international market, a rich yank emigrant who wants a bit of the old sod for 2 weeks a year.
Here's a dilapidated old Garda station for 200k in most rural Donegal.
EDIT: Daft link not working...

You can almost feel the gloom and doom of that garda station, just looking at the photos.
And another €200k to do it up only to have a house with no front garden and traffic whizzing by only a few feet from your bedroom window.
That's a big nope from me.
The lighthouse is overpriced by about €3 million.
The stairs....
