Sonic Colors wasn't awful?

I never played it, after the bruising left by every other 3D Sonic game!

Now, that is a slight lie, I enjoyed Sonic Adventure and its sequel on the DC, but I was younger then and shiny 3D things impressed me.

I'll pick this one up eventually, no doubt

Yup, it was every bit the 3D stick-to-basics Sonic they should've been producing from the start. Of course they had to go back and complicate its legacy by making a slightly dodgy remaster of it, wouldn't be Sega otherwise.

This is rather cool and wish more ports got this kind of retroactive love: infamous ugly duckling port Ark: Survival Evolved received a complete overhaul rebuild, and the results are might and day. It looks like a genuinely pretty game now, as opposed to the ugly mess it was.

I like the idea the "Steamworld" world acts more as a convenient framing device for varying genres, often executed with just the right dash of subversion of the genre(s) any given game is using. I'll still maintain Steamworld Dig 2 is a low-key nomination for one of the great modern Metrdoivanias. You'll rarely find other IPs in gaming that willing to bounce about without worrying over fan pushback.

A cross between SimCity and Dungeon Keeper absolutely has my immediate interested; for anyone interested and already wanting to try it out, there's already a demo on PC & Steam.

Pikmin 4 will be 12GB. By comparison:

Pikmin Gamecube 1.3 GB

Pikmin 2 Gamecube 1.3GB

Both were just under 2GB on Wii/Virtual Console.

Pikmin 3 was 4GB on Wii U and Pikmin 3 Deluxe on Switch is 6.5GB. So it's a significant increase in file size. Hopefully it's because it's brimming with content.

There was a quiet release of Akai Katana on Switch just before Christmas. It is supposed to be getting an EU release as well but, for the time being, it is available on the Japanese eshop and from importers as a physical cart.

I downloaded it earlier today and it's excellent!
