To be fair, that would be my reaction to anyone undertaking the action, apologies if it came off as personal.
Not even remotely near any kind of logical comparison.
Did you see their source on the story? "According to the Daily Mail"
And then if you read the Daily Mail article, you see that it's all off the back claims from one anonymous parent, and nothing is confirmed.
You should really be more critical of what you come across on the internet.
The Google search was quite interesting. It showed that mainly left wing American groups pushed for its promotion in 2015.
By using a Google search I showed I was open to research but I guess some people know it all and are condescending to boot.
Western society is in for a sharp shock far more pressing issues are going to appear in the years ahead, from Climate change, famine, war, fighting over resources, as they've done throughout history. Wokeism and its emphasis on total self centred focus simply won't be accommodated. At the core of Woke is the cult of the self.
Could all of this be cleared up if we just call people by their legal names and not have to include genders?
Will we ever get to a point in society where we don't even have to have gender "labels" and we just stop labelling ourselves?
If a woman who identifies as a man is in a sexual relationship with a man, is she homosexual? Is a man who has a sexual relationship with a woman who identifies as a man also homosexual? Genuine questions, BTW.
Don't think so. If this teacher was a fanatical Muslim of the Taliban type, and was refusing to teach pupils because they were female, I would also support firing them for not following instructions, policy and procedure.
It’s a myth, propagated by right wing news outlets.
It could all be cleared up by teachers following the policies of their schools. Though based on your feline posts, you’re not really looking for a solution to get this cleared up.
I suspect if the teacher was a fanatical anything, this would be the same conversation. if he'd been a moderate Christian (or Muslim for that matter) life would have gone on and we'd never be having this conversation.
Is there a point in there somewhere?
Genuine questions, BTW.
Yeah, right.
Probably all over your head.
How would you know if you had very strong feline feelings? Wouldn't you just be trying to guess (as a human) how a feline might feel? You could try to behave in a feline-like manner but I doubt if you'd clean yourself by licking yourself all over, for example.
Nothing to do with anything but...when I was in Primary school in the late 70s/early 80s, a lad in my class identified as (or thought he was) the cartoon Pink Panther. He'd move around furtively, doing the Henry Mancini song as he moved (without the sax solo). I think it lasted for a year or two but he was kept back a year so I don't know how he got on later.
No one is stopping you from calling people by their name. I'm sure if you tried, you could get though life without ever using a personal pronoun if you wanted. But why would you bother? Personal pronouns are easy to say, perfectly natural parts of English language communication and don't cause anyone any harm.
In Ireland, the legal situation is that your name is the name you use. It doesn't have to be the one on your birth cert, you don't have to go to court to change it - you simply use it and ask others to use it, and that's how it becomes your formal, legal name. If you want, you can do it by "deed poll", where you declare your name in front of a witness before a commissioner for oaths. You can then lodge this with the courts, but this is not legally required, and merely helps with having an official document with your name on it to use as proof that you use the name (where you don't have your new name on a bill or ID, for instance). Both my wife and my late mother use/used different legal names to the ones on their birth cert, including having bank accounts, passports and driving licences in those names, and they never went though any legal process to change their name.
One of the issues here is that Burke objected to doing this simple act of calling the student by their chosen name, when requested. In fact it's reported that it wasn't even that he refused to call them by their name - he objected to the very concept of calling them by that name, without even facing the opportunity of having to do so. Even though it's an established legal means of establishing an individual's name, and a requirement of his employer in this specific instance.
Thats a no then. Just a pathetic the world is coming to an end because someone wants to be called They rant.
It would be. Because you get everything wrong.
Evangelicals have no time for Mary. You don't know much about anything.
Something something "wOkE", something something "tHe lEfT".
The usual horseshite that's not worth the effort reading.
Didnt realise I had acquired a fan.
If someone who identifies as a man is in a relationship with another man, they may consider that they are homosexual. Or they may be bisexual.
Just as an FYI, knowingly referring to someone who identifies as a man with the pronoun "she", as you did here, could be construed as misgendering.
Someone who identifies as a man would usually prefer to be referred to with male or gender neutral pronouns.
I know this has probably been asked before, but what kind of evangelical Christians are the Burke's? Like, what particular church do they follow?
Afaik the evangelical wing of the COI.
And why should anyone be obliged to call them 'they'?
Ignoring, for one second, the fact that your employer can oblige you to do lots of things in order to continue to be employed...........you yourself have just referred to them using the they/them/their pronouns which they've requested (I've just done it again with "they've requested). You're complaining about using the words "they" (and by extension the objective case "Them" or the possessive "Their") to refer to a single person, while using 'them' to refer to a single person, and you didn't even notice it at the time.
It is mind-boggling how lacking in self-awareness you are. It looks, to me, like you've been caught out and are now digging your heels in while trying to save face but you're only digging deeper.
Here are some more examples, just to show you how utterly incorrect you are:
"My son attends that same school where Enoch Burke teaches.......Oh yeah, what year are THEY in?"
"Did you hear my neighbour's kid got all As and Bs in the leaving?........hopefully THEY get enough points to get into Medicine now"
"Dad, there's a salesman at the door?....What do THEY want?.....Tell THEM to go away and mind THEIR own business, and shut the gate after THEM"
And, for the God-botherers out there, this one is straight from the Bible......."Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone THEM with stones, till THEY die."........Deuteronomy 17:5
They has been used as a singular word for, literally, centuries.

Was the student requesting to be called by a different name such as Anne instead of David (or vice versa as I don't know if the student was male or female) or did the student want to be called by a different label to what any person in the street would establish as correct based on not knowing the student and only having visual clues?
Apparently you are only using They because you have been forced into it by wokeness and lefties. Ignore the fact that I (and everybody else) have been using it that way for at least the 50 years i've been on this earth.
At least he moved slowly and didn’t make noise- imagine how annoying it would be identifying as speedy gonzalez or woody wood pecker?
Why would the person on the street be the one to establish the correct label? If a man happens to look feminine or a woman happens to look masculine, are we going to have a majority vote to establish their correct labels?
Shirley the two can exist along side each other as issues in their own right?
It is trivial. So why get so worked up about it?
Yes, correct. To reiterate:
If a woman who identifies as a man is in a sexual relationship with a man, is she homosexual? Is a man who has a sexual relationship with a woman who identifies as a man also homosexual?
