Clerical Officer in the Civil Service 2022 | Civil Service - publicjobs.ie
can someone tell me how long it takes from getting results to being assigned a department and going through clearance.
@Iseedeadpixels cheers for that 👍👍
A few from here already if you check back on posts.
Hi all has anyone gotten Revenue?
My clearance is done, they don't give the outcome in the email, PAS will contact me with the outcome, should be ok as I passed vetting 2 years ago for the prison service and that way waaaaaay more in depth.
Fingers crossed we hear something this week.
Yea studs are ok ..it's a mix of dress code ..casual to very glamorous...just do you ..just don't look a mess ..
Error
Sounds good! I’m looking forward to getting started! I stressed my good IT skills throughout the application process so hopefully I could be in the back office fingers crossed but either way I’m looking forward to it!
Does anybody know what oom they are up to in the interviews for the Dublin Region one of my friends is asking me. I did tell him to email with the competition number and they will tell him said id try here first :)
Yeah I love it. I'd say its dependent on where you are though. Back office is great.
My standard vetting is complete - from the Dublin thread it seems to be about a week later you are given the position
I just don't understand what's the difference unless its something to do with the 5 or 7 years (?) they go back for minor offences on the standard vetting
@fritzelly They don't ask for anything extra. Were you sent a link for vetting yet? You have to complete the standard vetting first. Then when I was told I'm being considered for AGS, I was sent the same link with the exact same questions, etc. They tell you it can take up to three months, but mine only took a little over 4 weeks. Although, I'm assuming that my special clearance is complete because I was actually never informed. Maybe they're taking on people before it's complete.
It was a really small form emailed to me from clearance with just my name , contact details and then any addresses I’ve lived at since birth. It was called Addresses for Additional Security Clearance.
For anyone thats done the extended garda clearance what else do they ask for?
Trying to wrap my head around whats the difference - do they not check the criminal record on the normal clearance - what does the extended one do?
@Charliesha92 I was told I'm being considered for a role with AGS in the first week of December. I had to do the special Garda clearance too, and like you I was annoyed that it could take three months. I got a call yesterday to say that I'm starting my role in the last week of January. Try not to focus on the two to three months because mine only took a little over four weeks. Hopefully it'll be the same for you.
@Red Honeysuckle Try not to worry. I felt the same way. They say you will be waiting no longer than 10 days for interview results, but it took a month, down to the exact day, when I got my results. Hang in there.
She does flexi, can start anywhere from 8-10 am.
When does this panel expire?
If you have a training programme to go through you defo aren’t in my department. They offered me no training and still nothing 6 months later. As I said before in other messages my Division doesn’t have many COs at all as we deal with very high up large audits so a lot of the work cannot be handled by a CO.
PAYE and customer service branches have full training programmes so I wonder if that’s were you are going ? 🤔
Most training is done on Dolier Street in Dublin if you are on the Dublin panel. That’s where the Revenue training branch is located. Honestly it’s so u my brilliant you got a training programme before starting as it’s horrible being thrown in and knowing nothing about VAT or Tax law .
In terms of days off I am not sure how that’s works. Training programmes can last 6weeks up to 6 months depending on where it is.
This is for @Charliesha92
Hi just reading that your just newly in revenue, could I ask you a few questions? I just received an email today to say iv been appointed revenue and will have to undergo a training programme. How long does this training normally last and where is it based? Also what are the hours is it 9-5? It also mentions that the leave would be restricted during the course, so does that mean no days off at all? Thank you, just very anxious as I see your very unhappy with your allocation.
This is a very random question re: dress code in the civil service but does anyone know if guys are allowed wear small ear studs to work in the civil service in the DSP department?
Oh great, thanks.
Do you mind me asking is it shift work or the normal Civil Service working hours ?
We have flexi time we can work up in a 4 week period which is what most of the departments have.
Ah I see, thank you! Best of luck :)
All my clearance is done. Employments , reference and the initial garda vetting . I’ve been waiting to hear what department and now for the department of justice another extra clearance is required.
Hi have you sent in your employment checks or at what stage did you get told your offer ?
Yep she loves it, gets 2 days WFH and over time too.
Oh thank god haha just someone mentioned to me before that a neighbour that’s a convicted criminal could fail your extra vetting for positions like this.
Does your SO like it there ? Do they get to WFH at all ?
That cant be true about Neighbours as my SO is in Justice and from a dodgy area.
