plus if the war was to escalate any further, it’s World War III. My own feeling is unless Putin gets bumped off or dies, it’s probably going to require further military escalation. To that point…. If Putin attacks or tangibly threatens the EU for example. Any further west, the Ukraine the EU / US / UK have to go to town on Russia…
Seems that the German government are under HUGE pressure in relenting in giving permission to send their tanks to Ukraine.
Seems every country in NATO is backing the Germans into a corner and the mood music is that they are going to relent.
If or when it comes to pass, and if Ukraine can get 300 or so leopard 2's into their ranks with men trained up to use them, it could be very decisive in the outcome of the war.

Well without the support there is every chance that the Russian invasion would have been, or could still be successful. You then have a failed state bordering the EU under Russian "control". The migration we're seeing today will look like nothing compared what it might look like if that happens, plus the risk of escalation increases. Don't think this support to Ukraine is for Ukraine, it is for the long-term security of the entire region. We're not that nice, we're really covering our own arses and rightfully so. It's in all our best interests that Russia fails.

EU took in millions of their citizens, housed them, educating / educated their young people, given priority access to free healthcare for all. Jobs etc…

Just the opposite. Not giving Ukraine weapons in the amounts enough to turn the tide now prolongs the war as it gives Russia time to produce and buy more weapons and to train more mobiks.
Please understand that Putin has no intention in ever ending this war unless Ukraine surrenders. Anything else would be the admission that Putin was wrong and a Putin who is wrong is a dead Putin. To keep himself alive, Putin is ready to sacrifice everyone for as long as he lives.
I wonder of the potential risks of supplying Ukraine with huge amounts of military equipment and causing Russia to increase their production or buy in more (if they can). This could be just prolonging the war. There are still sanctions to be imposed which will or could harm Russia more than military battle and on a human level limiting death and suffering would be preferable.
