This thread is a classic case of group think and group pile on - the amount of belittling bile expressed here against this family should be immediately apparent to all.
As as has been commented previously, the Burkes are notoriously litigious and posters are unwise to throw filth at them, as there's a chance that'll it come back to stick.
You might not like the family or their religious convictions but they deserve basic respect like all citizens of the state.
The whole lot is getting far more attention than it deserves quite frankly - which is fundamentally just a dispute between employer and employee.
It has been pushed up the pages to a big story only because of the trans angle.
Well, it has been before the courts and Burke hasn't followed the Court directives, contempt of court and so on...so more than just any normal employee / employer dispute
But indeed, fundamentally just a disagreement between employer and employee
It's not "group think" when a load of people disagree with their disruptive actions, extremist views and utterly ridiculous theatrics.
It's just being normal.
Respect goes both ways to be honest and the Burkes have shown repeatedly that they have absolutely no respect for anyone or anything that does not exactly conform to their very specific view of the world.
If Enoch Burke behaved like an Adult and followed the rules and processes available to him to express his objections I would have "basic respect" for him.
I wouldn't like him or agree with his position , but I would respect his right to hold that view and to defend that view as far as the laws of the land allow.
However , right from the very start of all of this Enoch Burke has taken a position that his view and only his view is correct and that everyone else simply needs to bend to his will and do exactly what he demands - Law and Policy be damned.
At no point has Enoch Burke shown a single iota of respect to his employers , to the policies and rules of the School , the Department of Education or even the Judiciary and most importantly has shown no respect for the Students that are supposed to be under his care.
Bottom line , if the Burkes want respect , they had better start showing some.

There is no “right” to injunctive relief, it is a matter for the courts to consider whether it is fair and reasonable to grant injunctive relief in light of the totality of the circumstances. Burke has a right to fair procedures and for remedies in the event that they have been broken. The prohibition on attending at the school’s premises did not limit his ability to challenge the disciplinary hearing and the only question would be whether precluding him from the school prejudiced him. Given that he was still being paid, it is hard to see how he could strongly argue that he was being penalised by being kept away from the school. Where he has shown that he has contempt for the court by breaching it’s orders, it’s perfectly equitable for the court to consider if he should benefit from that.
Indeed we now have two separate Court cases relating to the employment of a Burke that have broken down because of their inability to behave like adults.
Ammi Burke had her case in the WRC indefinitely suspended , despite the Chairman of the WRC hearing stating that she had a strong case because neither Ammi nor her mother could behave themselves at the hearing and refused to stop shouting at everyone.
Now you have Enoch going a similar route , his potentially valid request for an Injunction was refused because he himself refused to comply with an active injunction against him and then his Disciplinary hearing descends into farce because once again none of the extend Burke family have the first clue how to behave in public.
And yet as some tell it , it is every one else that needs to stop being mean to them and give them respect that they apparently "deserve".....
This was one comment by the judge that struck me as odd. Either Burke's argument for an injunction was valid on its own merits or it was not - and should have been assessed on that grounds.
Denying him access to one due to his own behaviour on another matter seems unduly punitive.

Burke was asking for Injunctive relief against the School whilst refusing to comply with the Injunction relief that the school had obtained against him.
Giving Burke an Injunction against the school when he openly told the court that he would continue to refuse to obey the already existing injunction would seem unduly unfair to the other party ( the School).
The Judge would in effect be telling the school that Burkes injunction was more valid than theirs.
No it isn’t. Why would the court grant an injunction when Burke refuses to follow the terms of the injunction imposed against him.
You cannot have your cake and eat it too. If the courts injunctions mean so little to Burke that he picks and chooses if he abides by them why is he seeking one anyway? Just help me understand the hypocrisy at play here.
Anyone defending this weapon has the same old lines about it. Enoch can do what he wants but how DARE the school, court etc not do everything he wants!!

Wilsons is a relatively small low profile school so they just wouldn't have any exposure to dealings of anything remotely like this.

Looked it up and it's actually a Church of Ireland school.
Makes no sense that they'd be advocating for something that goes against the religion of the school itself.
Either he had a valid argument or he didn't and it was on that basis his application should have been considered. Everything else is unrelated - even his hypocrisy.
It's up to the court to enforce its order against Burke for non compliance, and refusing him access to justice as that lever seems unduly punitive.

No it absolutely is not. You don’t have a fundamental right to an injunction being granted just because you satisfy the criteria.
I can promise you no court or judge will overturn that decision while he’s out defying court injunctions.
Justice isn’t a one way street either. He’s behaving unjustly and expecting everyone to fall in line. His whole family in fact are guilty of this. They’re above the law but also want the law to work for them.
What you’re doing now is trying to twist it around as someone else’s fault this is, once again, Enoch Burkes fault.
i said it previously in this very thread, Enoch should take a long hard look at all the situations he’s found himself in recently and figure out the common trend in all of them.

You seem a little sensitive on their behalf, don't think anyone has a particular issue with him carrying the box, seeing as it seems to be the role he carved out.
At risk of being pedantic, the Board of Management members actually aren't 'professionals', they are unpaid volunteers, having to deal with this sh1tshow. Maybe you should be 'having issues' with those who've caused them to spend their free time dealing with this sh1tshow, under the eyes of the nation.
Maybe if the family would stop trying to shout us back to a 1950s Ireland, they might get a little more respect from the wider community.
