Starting a new thread as this was getting lost in the Hints, Tips & Troubleshooting thread.
Post details of your integration with Home Assistant etc.
What's that ?
It's a ePaper screen, making a "at a glance" house monitor.
Nice, are these guys backlit as well or visible with the lights on only sort of thing?
Got my solar TV up and running too
Lashed a button on it to flip through screens and co2 sensor to remind me to air the room every now and again 😁
No passive, like the original ereaders
Only uses power when changing.
Trying to balance readability vs data density
Takes like 4 seconds for a full refresh, hopefully going to try doing partial ones, maybe every minute.
If I need 10 seconds I'll use my phone
Looks great well done
After another day of trying to sort..still no joy. It looks like my hard drives are missing and I've tried nearly everything. Spoke to microsoft today again and they couldn't help. Pain in the backside..
Hard to tell. Could be just a missing bootloader or you might have formatted the entire disk. Try running a live USB version of Ubuntu. It will allow you to look at what is currently on the drives. Unless you are familiar with what you are doing, you might be best to copy your files of and reinstall.
https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/try-ubuntu-before-you-install
Will do that today.
I tried installing a new copy of win 10 using flash USB and made it about 7% , couldn't find hard drive (where to put it).
Also tried uninstalling it from grub bootloader (I think) and again I couldn't find dir containing c drive etc..
There is nothing of any use on this pc (except win 10, but I can get that later)
I never partitioned before install and maybe that's not good..
I'll try your idea and check out ubuntu again
Tks again - lesson learned
Personally I prefer Linux Mint
Some Sunday night coding and I have live data in it,
Anybody here with the 4g Solis hybrids do you know if the registers are the same as the 5g version? Looking to set up automation on family members Solis but hoping will be similar registers to my old 5g hybrid for changing storage mode from 33 (self use) to 96 (feed in priority)
yep they are the same.
Strangely trying to automate some things on a family members 4G Solis hybrid have encountered a different scenario to doing it on my old 5g version.
On my 5g version there were three main registers for changing modes 33 self use, 35 charge from grid and 96 feed in priority. However getting completely different registers on the 4g version and weary of using them in case of issues if incorrect. Reading the storage control mode via solarman it is showing 34 for feed in priority and 1 for self use. Has anyone else encountered these and anyone here using 4g Solis hybrids that could check theirs to see if similar?
Just got the following email response from ESB Networks, which might be of interest to others:
"ESB Networks are not giving access to the smart meter ports to facilitate in - home displays for monitoring consumption at this time."
I was planning on using this P1 port to monitor usage via my recently installed Smart Meter.
So it seems to me they are restricting access until they (and/or partners) have an IHD offering available to market. It smells a bit like anti-competitiveness to me, as it is an electrically protected (opto isolation) port and has a pretty stable & well documented interface definition.
Fortunately, I am able to track usage using the IMPULSE led of the meter, but the P1 port would be much nicer because it provides a (limited) 5V supply.
Change wifi router from voda to sky and finding it difficult to communicate to the solis again via app..any help would be appreciated
I think I set it up laptop before bit I can't remember
Did you setup the SSID (wifi network name) on the new Sky router to be the same as the old one you used with the Vodafone router and the same password?
No , should I? Pain in the arse going around setting up all devices etc...
Why would you change the details on 20 devices, when you only have to change one to allow all 20 to work again
Doh
Yes when you change wifi router you should change ssid and password to the same you had - think I'd go crazy trying to set up 70-80 odd devices all over again.
But I noticed if solis loses wifi it might also go into this AP mode where you have to connect to the access point it creates and set it up again OR unplug the solis wifi dongle and plug it back and it should pick it up automatically then if the new wifi is set up like the last one.
Cheers guys I'll do it later on..yea the solis picked up the dongle ap_#### but I had difficulty connecting....tks
Done - however the solis dongle was hassle, tried numerous occasions but eventually got it..cheers
@reklamos I don't suppose you have a copy of your node-red flow in a gist somewhere?
Anybody else's solis cloud app throwing errors and showing random other locations/plants every time they open the app.
Yes mine is definitely acting up the last 2 days
Everytime I hit the full load hours ranking it brings up other locations and addresses (post code)
It's worth taking a screengrab. You might get more traction with a support ticket if you can show you're seeing data you shouldn't
Hardly ever use the app these days, but I can confirm same behaviour.
Thread safety is hard.
I'll really need to spend a bit of time setting up local access and ditch the app.
Just got my RPI going last week, and starting to play with HA and all it can do. My first port of call is mostly monitoring based, i.e. making nice dashboards.
I've 2 questions which are probably super basic:
1) I'd like to display/log consumption of Day and Night units. I'm using a Myenergi CT for the data, but best way to consistently put it in bins based on Timestamp? (Bonus point for a method that automatically adjusts for daylight savings)
2) Similar question, I'd like to do some simple operations on variables (e.g. adding string productions), again how do I this?
TIA...
Hi all. Not sure if anyone else is noticed this issue, but since the 27 of Feb, when I run a report on Soliscloud I get different yield figures between when I run a Plant Report and an Inverter Report. All other days previous to this are the same. Not sure the reason for this, the readings on the inverter itself correspond with the inverter report.
