Clerical Officer in the Civil Service 2022 | Civil Service - publicjobs.ie
I just got an email saying I’ve been offered Department of Justice but have to do special garda clearance now due to the sensitive nature of the post .
That can take 2-3 months 😢 also you can fail the extra clearance by living on the same road as a criminal I heard too so I hope all my neighbours are ok haha
I'm waiting on Garda vetting the rest is all in.
nope, checking email every 10 mins

Has anyone from the Dublin 2022 campaign gotten any news?
Thanks for the response looking forward to working in welfare
Shouldn't be too long until you hear, they take nerves into consideration.
Interview results typically issue in 10 working days, but tbh it all depends on how many were interviewed and what else PAS is tied up with at the time.
Over a week and in the 190s. Limerick though so Clare, Tipp, North Cork apply so tough competition.
How long ago was your interview and whats your OOM? My interview was shocking but my OOM was 90s so I heard pretty quick.
I absolutely loved working in welfare , so interesting and you learn so much ! It's full on and you work but it's great , good luck
Exactly this and it's pretty hard to fail at the interview unless you were really really terrible and just couldn't answer any question - they understand its a tense situation
A bad interview is likely a good one. Better than being confidant about the interview, it is possible to come across as cocky if you think it was a good interview. Not many people interview well who are totally capable of performing on the job. It is normal to think it went badly when it probably didn't actually, hang on in there!
Question to anyone who has worked in Welfare as a CO or TCO is it a good department to work in?
Anyone else on the "long wait" between interview and results?
Sitting here thinking just tell me I failed already. I can't deal with my stomach dropping anymore everytime I think about the shambles of an interview.
My OH is about the same, hoping for a mid-late Feb interview date
That’s great thanks, I’ve heard great things about support with promotion etc but I was a bit worried about putting in a new application before I’ve even started.
That’s great thanks for the response.
You can apply for the new comp or any comp. The great thing about the civil service is they like to see staff moving up in their careers and are very supportive. Noone takes these things personally.
Hi
I was on an open contract with DSP , everyone will tell you your basically permanent as your job is there as it's busy and with the DSP it's always crazy busy ! Once there for five years on open contract you become permanent. You would apply for CO Clerical open panels that come up while on the open to become permanent faster
Hi I’m the same. Is it the same as the competition a few months ago or for specific degrees. Thought it was strange as there’s usually only one graduate competition in oct/nov, not this time of year.
Hi everyone, starting in my new role as CO shortly and looking forward to it. However, I seen today that the competition for the Graduate Opportunities is opening again this Friday. I missed out on this the last time a few months ago as I didn’t see it until the night it closed. I’m really interested in this as I’ve recently finished a masters. Does anyone know is it ok to apply for this or would this not be allowed or frowned upon as I know I’m under probation in the new role for one year.
Thanks in advance
Can anyone tell me is an open TCO contract in DSP a good contract to be offered? How long would open TCO contracts tend to last?
I'm still waiting. I'm just behind your mate so if you hear anything let us know, ta
550ish
Mine was posted two days prior to the suspension so the delay shouldn't be too much longer. I imagine it will get up and running again fairly soon.
I really appreciate that, thanks for the response.
Maybe overthinking it, just need to be sure I'll have a job to go into. Might just hang on for another week or so then before handing notice in.
They didn't yet ask for references, only statements of employment. Will they ask for that later?
I think only one other document missed the 16th deadline for clearance submission as one of my previous employers took a while to send a statement of employment. Would this be a stumbling block?
What's their order of merit?
Edit: crossed with your post.
You didn't happen to be called or know what OOM they're in for Dublin by any chance? friend of mine is in the 550s
Royal mail have suspended international mail, you may not be getting that for quite a while
When you know you have a new job lined up your mental health will improve, I'm like that now when finance is wrecking my head I'm just laughing knowing I'll be gone soon.
