Seeing as Elton has now rescheduled his Dublin gigs, might be useful to start a 2023 thread as others might start popping up.
The Commitments - 7th - 19th February (Olympia Theatre)
Elton John - 28th/29th March (3Arena)
They’re announcing a rose bowl gig
It sure they’d add any more europe dates alongside US ones
2023 match day fixtures for Croke Park
Plenty of room on the calendar from August
Indeed, i remember that ! Coldplay remain a realistic possibility, as is Beyonce !
There's an announcement coming tomorrow. Someone big apparently. I just saw it on Reddit though so could be nothing
Interesting
Would Madonna doing a gig here be 'BIG' ?
Well she headlined one of the Slane gigs.
Madonna wouldn’t sell out Croke. Coldplay are probably on about Australian dates.
Beyoncé is rumoured to announce around early Feb, but her rumoured Europe dates are May and June so it won’t be Croke if she comes.
I don’t think anyone will play Croke this year. I don’t see why Coldplay wouldn’t have announced with the other Europe dates. They could’ve sold 3 nights out easily.
Pretty decent chance of Coldplay to come in August alright, youd imagine it would be announced by now though.
The new Coldplay dates are most likely the rescheduled ones for LA. Id be shocked if they include Croke Park. Literally no reason why they wouldnt have included them on their original European tour announcement. These tours are planned well in advance. The GAA would have known and been able to give a timetable for any act well ahead so they could include it on their original announcement. Id put the house on them not playing.
Wouldn't be a very smart bet even if it is likely. Cant make sweeping statements like that and not have proper sources to back it up. Fanirish can do that, but they clearly have industry knowledge.
their last date is 19th july in amsterdam. i would say very unlikely they would announce dates for croke park for weeks after their last date plus months after their designated european tour announcement
most likely scenario is that croke park wasnt free for when coldplay needed it so theyve skipped dublin
National gig announced
Good chance the National might play Sounds from a Safe Harbour in Cork, Sept 10-15th , they don't start the European tour until Dublin the following weekend.
Was hoping for that! Might make sense if there's no Marquee gig either.
They headlined SFASH in 2017, so would they do it again ? Maybe, maybe not. But would definitely expect to see the Dressner brothers at it, they participated in the 2015 debut festival, with a collective of other musicians
Have the dates for SFASH been announced ? Didn’t see that.
COH free for a week in September:
Wouldn't see why not when they were so heavily involved in it especially Dressners as you say. Will it be this year though? I'm more hoping out of optimism than expectation, say there's a good chance they won't but here's hoping!
Not officially yet afaik but Irish Times had those dates twice recently.
Those dates are now listed on SFSH’s website.
Think dates announced are previous week but still tracks so
I’ve been told (by a reliable source) Katie Taylor got a date for Croke Park, now I couldn’t see how she’d fill Croke park for a fight but hey watch this space 🤷🏼♀️
Incorrect, These are actually the dates of the 2019 festival, the website has not been updated in a few years.
Not an Irish gig but Aphex twin headlining field day on august 19th in London
Father John misty for the iveagh Gardens in July
Does he do a long or short mass?! :P
I'd say she's guaranteed to sell it out. A national hero who's never fought a pro fight in her home country. Oh she's also an undefeated world champion. Throw it on a holiday weekend like around st Patrick's day and watch those tickets fly out the door.
OHHHH I love a good Mass
See I don't see it, now my partner was all for getting tickets "should it happed" but it just wouldn't be me and I'm clearly under estimating the crowd behind her.
On a side not is there many here on this thread who would go?

Arlo Parks playing Olympia on 5th September
