I replied to mail with signed SEAI grant 10 days ago and just followed up today to see if I needed to do anything else. Was told no, once vin assigned (expected in next couple of weeks) they will apply for grant from there.
I have changed mine to cash. I was going to go with HP from AIB/Finance Ireland when rate was favourable - now increased to 6.4%. I'm now getting loan at 5.9% from Credit Union. I also like the CU loan because I tent to repay a bit quicker when I have a few spare yoyo's
I got my SEAI grant form day before pickup last yr
A question to anyone who has gone through the process and collected their car, the "Next Steps" on my account is insurance and it asks to upload proof of insurance. Is this proof that the new car is insured. Do you get a guaranteed delivery date early enough to get an original insurance certificate from the insurance company?
No need for any insurance details, it's for other markets.
I ignored the November email and got it again today and the SEAI Grant from Guvi.
Asking loads of personal questions etc
Pretty sure that’s not needed for the grant.
Could you please point to CU offering that loan. What are steps to avail this loan. Thanks
My missus is in Savvi Credit Union.
They got an email this week about car loans for EV or Hybrids at 5.x% too. I’ll confirm when she gets home later what exact % it was.
Steps to avail of any CU loan are the same. Become a member.
5.5% I believe.
Im been offered 5.9% through AIB via Tesla.
An post green car loan is 4.9%
Think this is there home improvement loan, electric car loan is 5.9%
Is that a term loan or HP? Thought Tesla only offered Finance Ireland rate of HP or PCP at 6.4%?
Did you check the wording. Mine stated I paid a 100 deposit , but it should be 250.
I’m not clued up in these loans and PCP etc. I’ve been very fortunate enough to only ever buy with cash.
But the CU sent out emails this week for EV loans at 5.6%.
That A Post number above looks good but no idea if it is or not. You often hear of VW Bank doing 0%.
Mine stated €250.
HP. PCP is Finance Ireland at 6.4% is what was in correspondence I got.
After ordering last night, finance offered against AIB or Finance Ireland. There's no detail as to rates / down payment etc. Does anyone know which one they base the initial monthly payments on? That's what we did our financial analysis on.
Have checked An Post, local CU etc and don't see much competition re rate
If you click through to the application (whichever you select) on the manage page for the car you'll see the full detail. I went with Finance Ireland and it was approved in about a day or so, then some documents and stuff to be submit.
Thank you, will look again.
Received email today to decide payment mode at earliest.
CU in my location are offering 7.9%. Are CU area specific?
Some CU’s can be strict with home address having to be local to them but others can be flexible and include you if you’re working in the local area etc.
+1 or have family in the CU already.
Haven't received any email from my Nov order, better give them a buzz. What tel number is everyone using?
Same dates as you, no SEAI form yet. Order just went in on Saturday 14th. Does the form come from SEAI or Tesla?
An Post vehicle loan is 5.9%
Tesla look after SEAI grant and will forward when there is more clarity around delivery ...they are likely "busy" at the moment
Fixed rate and no penalties for early repayment. Nice one 👍
St Paul's Garda CU in Cork is 4.9%. I've used them over the years. You do need to be related to a Guard though. Below from the web-site. Not sure it helps but thought I'd post anyway
"*member of the family in relation to any person, means that person’s father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, spouse or civil partner**, cohabitant***, son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter, brother, sister, half-brother, half-sister, uncle, aunt, nephew, niece, first cousin, step-son, step-daughter, step-brother, step-sister, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law or sister-in-law."
That was my thinking too. Randomly enough, the EV rate is much higher?
Yeah, they make a big thing of the EV car loan and charge a higher rate for it!
5.9 looks about the best rate unless you are lucky enough to be a member of a credit union where the rate is lower than this.
Hey Folks,
When picking up a Tesla will they give you a 'run through' of the car or is it just a handover and i need to look at a million YouTube clips afterwards ?
