This was has been ridiculously cheap for the west, the guns/ammo/vehicles being supplied were built for this task and it's devastating the russian war machine to the point where no one will take them seriously on the world stage for a long long time (if something happens with China, it will likely be naval/air/amphibious in nature rather than this re-run of WW1 tactics).
The rebuilding of Ukraine will be financed by seized russian funds and very long term loans, again, very cheap in the grand scheme of things.
Given the war has happened, from the NATO perspective, it's been a massive success, driven membership, russia impotent, russia burning itself internally anyway.
Of course, the best thing to happen would be for russia to withdraw, the better thing to have happened was for them not to invade in the first place as NATO would never envisage stepping a foot on russian territory (and russia won't dare touch NATO, everyone could see how frightened putin was when the errant missile hit poland).
For russia, and really putin, this was an attempt to show how great they were and quell the inevitable descent as ordinary, internet connected, russians could see the standard of living raise in places like ukraine while they have nothing but corruption and oligarch's plundering their resources. It may have worked to an extent anyway as they've isolated the people away from the rest of the world and now have more control over domestic affairs, at the cost of their impotence on the world stage.
And your Russia is pretty much the same, F**, devoid of young and able, owned by Putin and his Oligarchs, 100 times worse than Blackrock, A pariah state, living with other pariah states, shunned by decent successful Country's. Sinking lower and lower each passing year, until it implodes inwards on its self. While Ukraine will integrate with the EU and the civilized world, and yes, that includes NATO. solving its problems with the EU and the West. Meanwhile, RUZZIA....continues on its path of self-destruction, being controlled by China and stronger economies, which by that time will be most of the world. Putin will have succeeded in the destruction of the Russian federation.

Russia set a pretty big precedent by invading a European country and using energy as a weapon against us, which has had it's own global economic impact, so I don't think the world will get in much of a flap if he's made to cover some of the financial cost of his bitter war on Ukraine/Europe/the West
