Lurch is borderline hypothermic down in Tralee.
What is wrong with RTE, 3 people on the sidelines, in pouring rain and gales , trying to hold onto brollies, tables, sheets etc, surely in this day and age they could have a small mobile bus shelter type construction to make them look inside
They're getting well paid, let them stand in the rain sure like everyone else.
A bigger issue has to be Marty and his commentating, which consists entirely of randomly naming a player and what club they're from.
And giving the ‘ahhhh what a strike’
Nobody will touch this Kerry team. They will win the Football Double
Same thing was said last year. Kerry back line is weak and a major issue. Dublin not really testing it much today.
Is Marty Morrissey especially croaky this eve?
Kerry are different animal. Dublin will come again but not this year
Dublin are very poor and could even have the poosibility of relegation this year.
Kerry were 5 points up in a low scoring game against Kildare and didn't win.
Some people will talk them up but there are a few teams up North in particular that won'y fear them in the slightest.
The footballers be moving back to Parnell Park if they get relegated
Do rte know when they are recording league sunday that there is more then 2 divisions?
That's why the Tailteann cup needs to be sold as a separate TV package going forward
Of course they do
They showed games from Div 3 and 4 last week.
But this week there was both hurling and football on so they did not really have time to carter for everything.
The panel did discuss Div 4 for a while though, London's two wins after two years off, Sligo's big score, Tipp and Cavan's fall from higher divisions and Andy Moran's optimism as Leitrim manager.
There must be an audiance for a seperate show for the lower leagues like the EFL on quest
It be interesting to see how much coverage it will get
I'll informed, general clichéd chat about games they didn't see. They didn't even provide coverage of Division 2,let alone D3 and 4. Its the GAA's responsibility really, not RTEs, to make sure the games are covered. Either sell the games to a TV company or if that's not an option stream them. The landscape has changed now post Covid, supporters are used to the idea of streaming games, even at club level. There's no real excuse not to have cameras at each ground nowadays, and pick highlights from the best games. It's relatively cheap to do, and if RTE don't want to do it give the rights to someone who will.
For those missing their GAA fix today TG4 are showing the All Ireland schools finals

Nail on the fecking head! There's no reason for some live matches to go untelevised. Unless the GAA want some games to not be broadcasted to sell more tickets? In that case, they're losing in that situation as not everyone can drive or get transport easily to the games, nor does everyone enjoy watching highlights.
I see GAAGo have announced 38 games for next season, its €59 to sign up before end Dec and €79 after that. €12 per game otherwise which seems expensive
Interesting to see what Duignane and the likes say now that Sky are gone!!
6 league games being shown on RTE on a Saturday night slot:
Mayo v Galway first up in televised league games on RTÉ (rte.ie)
No disrespect but Derry v Meath seems like a very odd choice - is it because O'Rourke is involved?
maybe Derry v Meath is also chosen as the BBC are showing some of the games on the iPlayer so there needs to be a certain amount of games involving northern teams.
For the championship this REALLY suits RTE as BBC pay for the tv crew on the day and RTE just piggybacks on that. No idea if the league is the same.
The other factor would be whether a ground has the floodlights for an evening game, so obviously Celtic Park is kitted out but not all county grounds are so youre limited in what games can be scheduled on a Saturday evening.
Promotion and relegation are the most interesting parts of the football league so Division 2 can be very interesting, league finals can be a bit of an anti climax, usually the drama is the last day of regular league fixtures with alot on the line.
The finals are an anti climax but counties voted to retain them.
Anyone know if its possible to catch div 3 league football matches live online somewhere
Monaghan v Armagh in Div 1 is to be shown on the BBC iplayer this weekend. I wonder will they block it in the South even though a Southern county is involved?
Is BBC player not blocked in South all the time?
Normally yes. So if it is blocked in the South I can see Monaghan people who can’t attend the game not being too happy when their neighbours in Armagh will be able to watch it. The GAA is meant to be a 32 county body after all.
The GAA is a 32 county organisation. The BBC, on the other hand, isn't.
True. However here is the fixture on the GAA website. It says “watch it on BBC iplayer”. The GAA needs to clarify where it can be watched, or not.
