🤪...
With the 10 Challengers from Last week ,
The 14 Leppards from Poland, Finland Said they would send some of their tanks too ,
Add the 40 + Bradleys coming from the US and possible Strykers on the table too
Maraders too ,
Been a good few days for ukraine
They might have gotten away with huge numbers in the past(like many nations did) because of the slowness of news travel and state control of course. Today that's a lot harder. Plus unlike in the past they're not exactly dealing with to many "spare" young people. The more young Russian men that don't come back, especially in the big western cities the more I can see more and more questions being raised. Though I can also see it take a while. Unless Ukraine pull off a major rout again which would hit the home crowd hard, or the sanctions start to bite in the hinterlands(less likely) this could take years.
It's only the start there will be a lot of countries who are going to be shamed to provide more.
The next Ukraine offensive is going to be seriously ugly for the orcs.
Most western NATO countries have a large stockpile of Leopard2 and ammo, and UK is also thinking about sending their challenger 2s.
Ukraine needs tanks and IFVs for their offensive combined arms attacks ,and also defensive as Russia is probably doing another mobilisation and more to come in the next few months.
The good thing is that Russia is also running out of trained tank crews,so Ukraine might have the edge there soon.
Yeah, I know the Americans said they won't be sending Abrams, but 40 + Bradleys is still a step up on capabilities on the front, they have said they will train 5000 to use and maintain the Bradleys that suggests they are going to get more than 40 .
A bit confusing to the numbers of leopard's Poland willing to hand over.
Some polish articles quoting duda has pledged a full company of tanks.
How many would that be.
Not surprised by the news Germanys foreign minster payed a surprise visit to ukraine yesterday and alo met with polish ministers.
It seems to be between 10 -14 i haven't heard anything more than 14 ,
We will have to wait a little longer to see the final details.
It's going to be interesting to see how many other countries send tanks and IFVs
Abrams wouldn't make sense anyway. While they are a deadly and absolutely impressive tank, they require a lot maintenance and spare parts. Leopards could be perfect. Unsure of how reliable the Challenger ² are.
The Russian attempt to encircle Soledar has failed. Precision artillery fire now blasting the exposed Russian positions. The fightback is well on.
Problem with Abrams is the fuel,Leopards on diesel would be a better option, also for maintenance, atleast untill Poland get theirs up and running.
And the Bradleys with newer TOW missiles would be a great support to Ukraine
TOW missiles is something that many NATO allies also have in storage ,and many makes and use 25mm ammo.
What we're going to see now is a turkey shoot as the superior Ukrainian gunners turn the orcs to mincemeat 💣️
as expected - no export permission yet
Hard to grant permission if no request has been made, which judging by that tweet hasn’t happened.
Ukraine needs to wipe out them all in areas to maybe put the wind up the military. Putin will take heart if his plan of sending huge numbers to fight yields some sort of victory needs to be stopped now.
Fuel is not a problem for the Abrams. If it's a liquid and burns you can likely run them on it:
Cooking oil, aviation gas, diesel, petrol, methanol, alcohol, you name it.
There are so many Abrams that you could supply Ukraine with them, replace any needing maintainance with a new one, and carry on - rinse and repeat - and worry about repairing them some other year.
I'm not sure if the Abrams is the most pork barreled US weapons system of all time, but it's likely a contender.
That said, I have every confidence the Ukrainians could learn to repair them very rapidly.
I see the Russians have appointed a new commander ,Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov has been appointed replacing surgical surovkin.
I think some loud voices should publicly raise the prospect of replacing Scholz; Ursula von der Leyen has more and bigger balls than that vacillating twit.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Tuesday joined calls to supply Ukraine with Leopard tanks amid a debate about how far Western powers should go in giving Kiev modern weapons.
"I think that Ukraine should get all the necessary military equipment they need and they can handle to defend their homeland," von der Leyen said at NATO headquarters in Brussels.
Ukraine should not only receive advanced air defence systems "but also other types of advanced military equipment as long as it is necessary to defend Ukraine," she said.
Scholz pretending he hasn't heard any requests to provide leopards makes me sick - F'n Gauleiter.
There's russian in him sure
Fuel consumption is in the long run,and no Abrams needs spareparts and a place to be repaired, something Europe doesnt have right now untill Poland gets theirs up and running.
Leopards however have lower fuel consumption on diesel, and have many places to be repaired and loads of spareparts and ammo if needed
A lot of smoke lately about tanks. It seems its inevitable at this stage.
That will have Prigozhin and Kadyrov looking over their shoulders so much they are going to need personal physios to fix their necks. Those two conspired in his original downfall, and now that he's back... mind the gap.
They better keep away from Windows
General 'Armageddon' gets the boot, just 3 months after being brought in by Putin to crush Ukraine.....another one bites the dust....

That the butcher of Syria?
Seems fairly recently that there was mention of the Bradley being supplied to Ukraine by the USA and already we can see some arriving in the Netherlands. Hopefully this is just the start of a flood of weapons to facilitate a counter offensive from Ukraine to free its country from the russians.
It really depends on which generation of Abrams you're talking about with regards fuel consumption. The current (70-ton) v3s have half the fuel consumption of the original (55 ton) M1s, and that's before adding in the effects of any APUs which are installed. The Americans have made massive strides in fuel efficiency that in the grand scheme of things, it's not really a distinguisher between choosing a turbine or diesel any more.
I have no idea what the Ukrainians will do with under a dozen Challengers. At least a dozen leopards here, a dozen leopards there, soon you're talking a formation actually worth sustaining, but the British tank has absolutely nothing in common with anything else used or likely to be used except for the machinegun ammunition.
I said it last week when it came to the Challenger 2s they might not send any ,more than likely it was used to bait other countries to donate their Leopards which vastly outnumber the challengers in service.
Forest is that you?
Nice to put faces to the names 😃
If we all wish to make the Swiss take note maybe we should all start a campaign to put a supertax on all those swiss watches.
