Just opened today! Anyone know what percentage of job offers are based outside Dublin just out of curiosity?
Hi all - very new here, just curious when the next campaign (2023) could potentially open for EOs again? Is there a usual timeline? I'd be looking out for anything in Dublin or Kildare. Many thanks.
These comps usually run for 2 years so the next one prob won't happen till Oct 2024.
They’ve called to Louth : Open stream 12 Interdepartmental 6. Monaghan: Open stream 4 interdepartmental 2. Monaghan is the same since mid September and Louth was 0 in September if anyone’s wondering.
Hi all,
Has anyone successfully drawn down a mortgage while on probation in the civil service?
For context; I have just received my clearance email and I'm 2-3 weeks away from applying for my mortgage. I'm currently CO, moving to EO.
Thanks in advance :)
I had just joined the CS when we applied for ours. We were approved but had to wait until probation was over to draw down. Might be different for you as you are in the service already.
Could anyone advise me in relation to the salary scale please? I'm starting as an EO next week and I received an email advising that I'm starting on point 3 of the EO scale, increment date will be Jan 2024. I'm currently on point 7 of the CO scale. However, my increment as a CO would have been due in July 2023 and I would have skipped point 8 and moved to point 9. This means that from July I will be earning less because of my promotion to EO than I would if I remain a CO. The email says to contact NSSO payroll if I have queries re pay or increments, which I did, but received a reply advising that they only deal with the promotion as is and another team will look at my increment when it comes around. I'm not any wiser after that. Can anyone shed any light on it? Thanks.
I'm looking at the scales here and CO point 9 (34,589) is lower than EO point 3 (35,567)?
You're currently on CO pt7 (33,193). You'll start on the nearest point above your current pay plus one point which is EO pt3 (36,067). CO pt9 (35,089) is lower than EO pt3.
You will retain your 'skip' and move to EO pt5 (39,964) in January 2024.
(I'm assuming you're on the standard scale and not the higher scale)
Why does someone retain their ‘skip’ if they’re no longer a CO? I thought the skip only applied to CO’s? And that person will be an EO (so no skip)?
EOs skip too...Skips are at point 4 and point 8 of the EO scale
How do you skip? Do you have to request it or is it automatic?
The skips are done automatic. Just say you were due to go on point 4 of the scale on 31.01.23, you would be put on point 5 of the scale by payroll on this date.
If you have skipped twice at CO level you won't get any skips at EO level.
The above is correct. What OP mentioned about next increment isnt relevant. An increment 7 months in the future on a payscale you are no longer on is not a factor.
Any updates from anyone who is in Offaly? Those called before Christmas, have you done your interviews? Have they called anymore people?
I just received an expression of interest email.
It might sound like a silly question, but how do I respond to by email?
I would.like to accept the interview
Yes that's sounds appropriate
Me too.
I just replied with " I wish to confirm my interest for interview for the EO panel Dublin"
Interview just completed. Went well I hope! Good luck to everybody who has interviewed and those waiting to be called. I'll update when I hear more!
Well done! Was it virtual?
Did you receive your interview date yet? I got mine EOI email this morning
Yes, I was at home. They really do try to put you at ease while getting the information they need.
Yes, they’re usually nice and helpful. Best of luck with the results!
Hi, if you don't mind me asking is that open or Interdepartmental stream?
I’d applied for both but I think going off earlier posts here that it was probably the open. I was 59 for Offaly
Hi what no for dublin open are u ? Ta
I had mine this morning too. I felt it went well so hopefully good news. Any idea of when we’ll know? I wonder if the 3 days this week and 2 days next week of interviews are all for Offaly or is it a mix?
I had my interview today as well for Mayo. I know there are interviews Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week and next week, don't know what counties they are for though
Anyone hear from Tipp or Laois open or intra?
Dublin open they have reached 488
Interdepartmental 169
Got expression of interest email today.
OOM 890 (roughly) open.
Indepartmental 267 OOM (roughly).
As for the PSSA skips they are automatically applied (each officer if reviewed by the I&ES team in the national shared services organization and by Local H.R's) if you are a new entrant C.O, E.O, & A.O. (there are a number of other new entrants that qualify and a number of unique grades that get it due to the contracts they are on eg state solicitor's for C.S.S.O and D.P.P).
Also applies to higher scales for C.O, A.O and E.O.
