What's the email address to contact PAS about the current OOM? I can send them an email
From PAS as of 11am this morning:
To date we have reached as far as order of merit 67 on the Open panel and 47 on the Interdepartmental panel from batch 3.
General information re my timings
I was in Batch 3 number 57 on OOM
September 6th: Notification of Passing Interview and SAE
November 25th: Notification of beginning of Clearance Process
December 19th: Notification of hand-over from PAS to Dept of Health HR Department
Best of luck to everyone else
I have some great news, so as of this evening Batch 3 is exhausted. They are currently on Batch 4 the current position they are on is Open 1 and Interdepartmental 1
I have been called for the recorded video interview stage for Galway in January.
I will not be going ahead with it myself but good to know that there is something happening for non Dublin based applicants 😀
Do you mind me asking your original order of merit? I am also on the Galway panel and just curious now that it's moving. When was the video interview scheduled for?
Still at 1 and 1 of batch 4
I emailed just before the Christmas break and they advised they would not be starting batch 4 until mid Jan. Now they might start earlier, but I am not expecting anything this week.
Hi all,
Some might be able to point me in the right direction? If you're pulled from an internal panel, are you still on the open/ inter d panel? Or are you automatically removed from open/ inter d panel?
Who can I check with? My HR or PAS?
Thanks 😊
1700-1725 range
5th to 10th January is the window to complete
If it’s done on a purely internal panel as in the department in question is running the competition without any PAS involvement then no it doesn’t affect your PAS rankings as PAS and local HR don’t communicate with each other about those.
you would still need to make sure you meet all eligibility criteria in the hand book before appointment
Does anyone no how long Garda vetting takes? I received a provisional offer for AP role before Xmas and PAS advised I will get a formal offer once Garda vetting completed (presuming I am cleared!). Obviously I can't give formal notice in my current role until I get a formal offer.
No idea. Can you track the application on the garda vetting site? I have heard it was fast for some slow for others. Hopefully you will hear back shortly.
My Garda Vetting took exactly 1 week. I submitted on a Tuesday and got notification on the following Tuesday morning
How long is a piece of string? It depends on how many places you've lived, whether you've lived abroad, where your job offer is for (some places require more diligent screening), and, er, how well known you are to the guards... 😉 Between one and three weeks is common.
Hi, just enquiring to any person who has been in the AP role for the past few months after a recent appointment - how are you finding it? Is the role meeting your expectations.. or not - for those appointed to the Dublin region have you to attend the office everyday or can you work from home 3 days a week et - thank you in advance ….
Has anyone had any update on where the order or merit is at, at the moment?
.
I second this, I would really be grateful if someone recently appointed & new to CS could share their experience so far ? If they are Working from home some days ? how they find the role etc 😊
I’ve heard today the there is a review of the blended working system underway as it may not be working ?
it’s pretty integral to my taking an appointment …. Does anyone have any info on this ?
Hmm.. I'm no. 40 on the open panel.. Hope they keep going!!
Hope they keep some form of a blended option going.. Vital to me taking up a role!!
I'd be shocked if blended working was dropped considering the gaps in staff numbers across the public sector, not helped by cost of living/housing crisis and long term requirements to reduce car parking spaces in public sector offices. It seems to be working well in my current organisation for staff who are not public facing...
Blended working won’t be dropped, for example in my department with the number of new hires there simply wouldn’t be enough desks if everyone had to be in.
This is great to hear
thanks
This might be of interest: https://www.irishtimes.com/ireland/2023/01/09/hybrid-working-rates-reach-as-high-as-97-among-civil-servants/
I do not think it would be dropped either, but it's just a question of which department we get assigned to and their minimum requirement of days in office. Currently my own department is 1 day a week, but I know of others that have to come in 3 days a week in another department.
Also I am batch 4 top 5 in interdepartmental and open stream. I received my clearance email last night. It does not reference which stream it is for, but as I am an existing civil servant I do not need to complete the garda vetting section on the form. So perhaps it is for the interdepartmental placement??
Hiya, what number on batch 4 interdepartmental are you may I ask?
I'm number 7 but heard nothing so far. Also existing civil servant.
Could some one email PAS and post the current OOM for Open and Inter departmental please?
Congrats :)
Well it really depends on DPER if they decide to review it and pull dispute the funding all department might have to review their own internal blended working systems.
I for one will be certified sick until I find another job if they ask me to return full time and many others have voiced this opinion in my department.
I emailed PAS this morning. OOM is:
1 on interdepartmental
7 on open
Thanks a mill, I will also check next week on Wed/Thur and post it here.
If any one else on here wants to take up the baton the week after me, I think we would all appreciate that.
