Seeing as Elton has now rescheduled his Dublin gigs, might be useful to start a 2023 thread as others might start popping up.
The Commitments - 7th - 19th February (Olympia Theatre)
Elton John - 28th/29th March (3Arena)
Such sad news too here and wishing everyone affected the best
Seen Aslan a few times and they never disappointed and Christy is a nice soul
From the Irish Times: https://www.irishtimes.com/culture/music/2023/01/16/christy-dignam-receiving-palliative-care-at-his-dublin-home/
So sorry to hear that. Was really hoping that the show would go ahead, not because I care so much about the show - seems so unimportant in the context of the man's health - but just because the show going ahead would be confirmation that he had battled back from his latest health issue.
Wishing all the best for Christy and for his family and band mates.
Noel is not a EP headliner material by any stretch of the imagination. He is sub headliner based on ticket sales. EP headliner = act who can sell Marley Park out on their own. Noel g can sell st Anne’s on his own
Real shame he'll never get that last 3arena show.
Can't see Noel doing EP without being a headliner and they've all been announced but if he is that's a shame
noel g playing EP
Fall Out Boy about to release their new song and possibly tour announcement too. Hopefully they include Ireland
Noel Gallagher surely has to announce a date soon with the album announced tomorrow.
Nah as previously discussed here last year there was a bunch of cp test events for a few different venues on ticketmaster. It’s just a system thing
No, they do tests on venues fairly frequently. It doesn't mean anything gig wise unfortunately.
Saw this on ticketmaster. ...possibly a test for a coldplay date at some stage?
The bar for this year has been set high early, the scratch blew the bollocks off the 3arena, Dropkick are what they are, an incredibly tight band who have been doing what they do for nearly 30 years. Just an incredibly fun gig where I both lost and recovered my shoe.
"Open the pit for Ronnie Drew"
Hope 'Sleep Token' play over here this year
Found by accident and really enjoying them. Great look that is a little bit of a trick as there sound is not reflective of it
Lewis Capaldi for Belfast vital
Strange that no Croke Park dates announced yet allright.
Coldplay and Pink have both snubbed Ireland and Taylor Swift is unlikely to tour Europe in 2023.
Beyonce looks like she could play there but the clock is ticking.
To be honest its no loss , its a horrific venue.
Nothing likely in Aviva next summer. ireland have soccer games in June and few world cup warm ups in rugby in early august.
No chance he could of done Croke park, 80k capacity too much.
aviva only works as a venue if a promoter can organise multiple shows over a week. Obviously not enough acts touring next June/July that they put into aviva to make it work.
Maybe similar to concert timings and main event will be 9pm etc
A boxing match wouldn't be a non sporting event now would it........
Wonder is the Katy Taylor fight the reason why no Croke Park gigs are announced ??
Still think the Weeknd should of been put in the Aviva or Croke Park
Just saw it on Instagram the day I put it in here. Think Ticketmaster put it on their story a few weeks ago
Cheers, just looked at Roisin Dubh site now and saw that (25 years). I'm in.
it's a "30 years of BDB" tour so I'd imagine he'll be playing the oldies (he only has a few well known songs, though a lot of people bought his first couple of albums).
Does he 'shutupandplaythehits' or play mainly new songs (Banana Skin Shoes)?
He's also playing Roisin Dubh,Galway and St Lukes Cork on Friday and Saturday 21st and 22nd April.
Another thing to thank Brexit for..!
Was at Sweet in Frome late last year and Andy Scott commented that they may be sticking more to the UK going forward as a result of Brexit. Sounded like the paperwork and possibly issues over VAT on merchandise may make it more difficult for smaller acts to venture outside the UK.
When was this annouced? Had tickets for the last 2 shows that were cancelled.
Badly Drawn Boy playing National Stadium on Thursday 20th April. https://twitter.com/TicketmasterIre/status/1613147100916613123?t=FQ__r8jqGS6eXcIoVHEJcQ&s=19
Nothing since.
a lot of summer 2023 plans have changed in last two months. Costs of touring etc doing a number on a lot of prospects for shows. Promoters etc downsizing summer 23 plans
