@staples7 I like Neil Briscoe even though he occasionally gets things wrong or mixed up. There is plenty one could pick holes with in that article.
It would have been helpful if he were to review the car most on here have ordered. The Musk references are a bit pointless as well, just playing to the Irish Times audience.
In fairness he can only review the car he has not a future one, was too much references to Musk, would have got a lot more text on the car if he had left that irrelevance out, no mention of software which is where Tesla blow the opposition away
Looking at the state of the boot mat and the reg (221) I reckon that car maybe have been like the village bike for the past year. May account for some of the 'rattling'. Agreed what exactly Muck as to do with a car review I don't know.
As well as being on the original suspension, the lack of a parcel shelf in the boot in that version will have added substantially to the cabin noise.
Do journos get their cars to review from the dealer or do they also borrow them from friends/contacts? Why would Tesla give him the older spec to review now that they have a newer spec, albeit a RWD.
Quick one, one of the techs here is looking at adding an extra charger and reckons it's pulling enough current to add a 3rd. Anyway he asked me how much current would the Y pull on a 32AMP charger ? I have absolutely no idea.

In my opinion it's a lazy article that focuses lots on how terrible person Elon Musk is. It could have been an article written by Yellow Pack Mr. Clarkson.
Not a future one. There's a RWD car available in Sandyford. The Model Y AWD is an irrelevant car in Ireland, only bought by some people very keen on it (dare I say fanbois?) and willing to overpay by the guts of €20k. Anyone even slightly familiar with EVs and the Irish car market would know that.
Not even going to read that article. Briscoe is a dinosaur who gets more stuff wrong than right in his reviews of EVs. As I've posted before many times. And all of this not even checked by the editing team of the Irish Times. Will that paper even still be with us in 5-10 years time? 🙄
I had actually booked a test drive at Cork for tomorrow, but have cancelled for the moment due to still only having a LR available. Wont be in Dublin for a few weeks to drive their RWD, but prefer Cork due being able to get onto typical rural quiet roads quickly. Cork hopes to have a RWD soon.
Can someone confirm if the Tesla mobile connector and charging cable is included in new Model Y orders? I think the mobile connector is no longer included but what about the Type 2 charging cable? Thanks
