America has administered its first Lethal injection of 2023 to a transgender woman.
Why is a first world country still putting its citizens to death, particularly using a one drug method
Unless you give people the option of both, and then stand back and record what happens over many decades... we'll never really know for sure what people might choose.
What you're talking about is people's natural survival instinct and aversion/fear of death. If you gave a sick dog the option of euthanasia or living in agony or extreme isolation, many would choose to keep struggling on - because it's all they know. Doesn't mean it's humane however.
It can also take quite a long time for people to be mentally worn down by the reality of never ending lack of freedom. Some people might choose to be locked up in prison, but after 10 or 20 years of this experience, they may choose death. It's different being on death row, when you're staring death in the face from the beginning, rather than staring into a life of never ending prison time. I have read quite a bit about the psychological effects of both, and they're quite starkly different.
Maybe when they ran short of buffalo and native Americans to kill, they needed something to fill the void?
I repeat. I know trans people exist.
I give the same amount of legitimacy to someone identifying as a f*ckgender individual as I do to someone identifying as a transwoman.
Do you?
Again, your inability to answer a question is telling.
The crux of the matter is, do you believe a man commited those murders and a woman was put to death for it?
Any comment that starts with "So what you're saying is" should be immediately ignored.
Mentally ill people exist & there is no question to be debated nor are any of them awaiting my approval ,
You seems afraid to answer the question being asked of you ,
Is gender the only thing regardless of the facts & reality you are open to believe in because someone else says its so
Are there other parts of life where you are open to believe what people tell you when the reality & biology tell you they are in correct ?
Are you saying that all trans people are, by definition, mentally ill?
are you saying this person is innocent then?
I’m not sure what a a f*ckgender individual, and I’m confused as to why you persist in referencing trans people with the qualifier of “identify as”.
Trans people exist.
I don’t know anything about the person executed so I’m not going to comment on something I know nothing about. Sadly, this approach is a bit rare on boards.ie.
And those criminals that did it ? murdered innocents ?
that particular person will never commit another crime,
job oxo
Because whatever a person "identifies" as, if it isn't factually or biologically correct, is of no interest.
Much like height, weight, age or sex, some things are not up for debate or false because someone believes it not to be true.
And of course you font know what fu*kgender means. Because its a nonsense (yet recognised) "gender". If you were to be a gender identity advocate, you should embrace it no?
And please Andrew, your last sentence is ridiculous.
You came onto a thread about America executing a trans inmate.
You then admit you know nothing about it.
And then you submit another post, wistfully wishing that people who didn't know about a topic would keep themselves to themselves.
The lack of self awareness is astounding.
You understand what he is asking but you are refusing to answer his question because it makes sense , It takes the PC out of it ,
He has repeatedly said he knows Trans people exist but there idea of what there is not true in reality or biology ,
He is clearly asking you if you don't believe reality or biology when it only comes to gender ,
I refuse to answer your question because your not looking for the answer, Your simply looking for a way to judge my answer bases on political correctness & not if the answer is correct or incorrect,
Iv asked you a question which carries non of that baggage yet you refuse to answer ,
Question:
Is gender the only thing regardless of the facts & reality you are open to believe in because someone else says its so are there other parts of life where you are open to believe what people tell you when the reality & biology tell you they are incorrect ?
If it's okay to say born in the wrong body, is it okay to say, born with the wrong brain?
The 1980s called for you, they want their terminology back.
The number of transwomen in prisons completely screws up the criminality statistics. Look over here, there are more women committing crimes than men now. Just because a male criminal identifies as a woman.
It is happening in Scotland as we speak, and there is uproar about it. There are transwomen prisoners in female jails in Ireland.
Biological sex and X and Y chromosomes are the truth, not someone saying they are something they can never be in reality, only in their heads.
Many cases of trans are ASD. I think it is some sort of mental problem myself. It certainly isn't a normal thing anyway. Fair play to those who transition quietly and without fuss, and who do not commit crimes and just live their lives in peace. The rest can be attention seeking TRAs who will stop at nothing until everyone is silenced. The Emperor has no clothes though.
I think the title of this thread is taking the focus off the topic.
But I think the most damning aspect it has opened up another can of worms.
Does ANYONE think that a man was found guilty of raping and murdering a woman, and then a woman was executed for that crime? If so, please expand.
(I do have to laugh at one of the news report quotes....
“She always had a smile and a dad joke,” Hicklin said. “If you ever talked to her, it was always with the dad jokes.”
Surely it should be mam jokes)
I really don't remember any discussion of transgenderism in the 1980s to be honest. If you can be born in the wrong body, surely the brain is in the wrong body? Are you your brain or your body or perhaps both? Is anyone ever born with the wrong brain.
Turns out women were the villains all along! :D
Perhaps you didn’t notice because you hadn’t listened to loads of far right extremists telling you to hate on trans people at that time?
I don't remember the far right extremists either. I'm sure Renee Richards transgenderism was on the tips of everyones tongues in Ireland in the 1980s, or were people more concerned with trying to get a job?
I can remember Renee being in the news, possibly UK news rather than RTE but certainly in the news consumed by my family and lots of Irish families at the time.
"Hate"......
Where is the hate?
It's not hateful to believe in facts.
This is why people, who speak like you do, make a mockery of terms like "hate speech".
Disagreement is not hatred.
You don’t get to disagree with someone else’s life. Their life is not a question or a debate topic. It’s their life.
You love an aul change of the goal posts don't you ,
No,
I am suggesting that there is a problem as regards accountability for taking a human life.
A judge and jury gets to carry on as before if they kill an innocent person.
The person that kills another without adhering to the law can have his life terminated, whether the killing is an error or not.
I guess if people were accountable for their decisions, then mistakes might be fewer?
Anyway, to answer your question, guilt or innocence plays no part in my abhorrence of the death penalty. I would hope my stance remains firm if someone close to me is murdered, I am fairly sure it would.
Why do you support capital punishment, what will it gain?
You absolutely do Andrew.
If someone 3ft 2" told me they were 6ft 6", I would be well within my rights to say they are wrong. I could prove it.
If a 24 year old tried to get onto a under 12's football team by claiming to identify as being 11 years old, I would be correct in saying they are not. I could prove it.
If a male human says they are a female, I am also correct in saying they are not. I could prove it.
That does not in ANY way deny their existence. It simply says that what they are saying is wrong. It's not hate.
But you are correct (albeit by mistake); being a man or being a woman is not a question or a debate. It's a fact.
Live as whatever you want to live as. Live as a woman when you are actually a man. Live as a baby girl in nappies when you are actually a 34 year old man. Pretend you are a dog, you identify as a dog and run around your own back garden on all 4s.
(These are all new groups demanding recognition at the moment. New splinter groups every day emerging from the LGBTQ+ community).
But when you tell me that I have to pretend that I agree that you are scientifically biologically factually and obviously other than what you actually are, then the answer is no. That’s my life. Science, facts and reality.
I don’t disagree with anyone’s life.
Nobody can disagree with mine.
How many transwomen in prison are we talking about?
In a democracy, you actually do.
I don’t for the most part agree with capital punishment.
but individuals who commit certain crimes that enable themselves to be convicted of them and open to punishment such as xx years incarcerated or indeed capital punishment, should not be available to swerve justice based on gender, sex, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or indeed whether they are transgender individuals…or however they may choose to ‘identify’.
transgender people want ‘equality’ ? They need to accept that they don’t get to pick and choose what facets of their existence they want to just be equal…. and then what facets they should then be treated preferentially. It’s a farce. Equal is equal.
You are literally denying the existence of trans people.
