New season time.
Just to follow on from the kit discussion earlier. As we near the first races of the road season LR has cast his critical eye over all the announced kits:-
Some of the kits remind me of cigarette packs from the 70s for some reason. I think my favourite is FDJ but as LR points out it is going to be harder to single out teams as so many of them have similar colours. I also agree that EF was better last year and now looks like it got mixed with whites in the wash.
They're also going up to the village of Bejes. The full climb is known as Salto la Cabra - "The Jump of the Goats". I don't think they're doing the top section but if they do it's utterly insane looking. Last few km on concrete, 10% average gradient
Vuelta announced route today - Tourmalet and Angliru feature.
That’s probably for the best, and their 3T 1x bikes
Not only had I forgotten that I forgot Aquablue existed.
And can you imagine how good WvA could have been if his cycling career hadn't stagnated at Jumbo and he actually got his transfer to Aquablue in 2018/2019.🤔
Hi CX results are ridiculous, he hasn't finished worse than 4th in nearly 3 years! Admittedly he's not doing every race, but still...
Yeah I said there's always two but in reality it's just been Van Aert really. Just doesn't seem to make mistakes. Flawless almost every race
I remember an interview with Toon Alerts last season where he said that's it for the wins this season when the 3 lads were due to start the following week.
On the other hand those guys and their sponsors would have a lot less exposure without the road riders.
Not only that, the races are paying them money to show up. WVA supposedly requests 20k to start.
You’d wonder how the likes of Sweeck and Vanthourenhout feel about them, they slog it out for the entire season to win races and get points and then the road lads just swan in at the end of the season for 4 or 5 races, dominate and take all the attention
WVA is on a mission
Turned on the cyclocross, same two out front again.... ridiculously dominant. Pity there's not three or so more capable of staying with them. Drags a bit even if very watchable
Fantastic ride by Chapman, chase group could’ve brought it back easily enough but I think Grace Brown winning the sprint for 2nd even though she was the only one doing pulls on the front for like 10km probably shows why the others didn’t want to take a turn if it meant a flat out sprint
Go Brodi!!!!
Hmm what to watch. 'The Program' on BBC1 or this?
30km to go in the Ozzy women's nationals live on Eurosport/GCN now
Very early days for the Road lads but PCS has Dunbar and Healy down for the Giro in May
Bennett starts season in Argentina and then onto UAE. Dunbar doing Valenciana before UAE.
Nothing mentioned early for Mullen or Healy
WVA hometown race today at 2pm, MVDP at the start as well, no Pidcock.
Women's is starting now...
God I can't wait to see him not riding for Skineos
Eddie must've been riding with brand name covered the past few weeks I'd guess:

Also Amador looks to have leaked the new EF kit on his instagram, been deleted now
Great finish to the men’s race, the jumps and the off-camber section was fantastic.
Hopefully no major injury after the crash and it just needs rest
Mia Griffen in her new team kit. I think she’s the first Irish woman at world tour level?
Wow Fem's blue and white Cervelo is lovely!!!!!!
Whoever came up with that sleeve pattern should be sued for copyright.
First time I saw that picture I jumped because I thought Bernal had signed for Bahrain.
Ineos kit looks far too similar to the Bahrain kit, daft decision considering they arguably had one of the most distinctive kits in the peloton the last while
None of them are nice, out of that sample
Lotto the best of that bunch for me. The trek women's kit is always so boring imo.
