I wonder how this will work out for him

Surely you cannot diagnose someone with a disorder whom you only know second-hand through the media?
Anyone could have some traits that correlate with autism.
no you cant, they would have to be appropriately assessed for such, but theres an astonish amount of public knowledge available about such disorders nowadays, burke shows some classic signs of autism, along with many other dysfunctions of the disorder, including narcissism
...thats very true....
I think you really have to take into account how these kids were raised.
Yes, most people get their principles from how they were raised. If Enochs parents were not deeply religious his behaviour would likely be very different.
absolutely, there was clearly some sort of fairly significant dysfunctions within the family up bringing, tis common enough with such disorders also...
It seems to have an overlap with other madness too, so you might be on to something.
yup, theres a very high concentration of such behaviors in the autism community, i have witnessed this myself, im still struggling to understand why this is, theres also been links to serious violent crimes such as mass shootings with the disorder....
It's always interesting to note the sudden interest and concern in women's sports from people who were quite happy to sit back for decades and watch women's sports get no funding, no publicity, no facilities, no professional coaching.
It's almost as if their interest in women's sports isn't quite sincere.
Yes. A lot of guys with incel type attitudes towards women are suddenly militant hardcore feminists with a deep concern for women, when it comes to certain issues. They are obviously thinking that women are too stupid to understand that.
50 years before the State, we all had Protestant schools which were most certainly involuntary
That is not true though. Most of the national school system was under RCC control by then.
I wouldn't bring autism into it one way or the other, but the obvious and utter lack of empathy makes him completely unsuitable to be a teacher.
They found it very hard during the World Cup to choose between their hatred of Muslims and hatred of LGBT+ people.
Sorry but it's you who is trying to sidestep the root cause - Burke's appalling and entirely inappropriate behaviour at a school event and refusal to engage with his principal in an adult fashion, then his refusal to engage in the school's disciplinary process which is taking place as a result of his appalling and entirely inappropriate behaviour
IF they are that intelligent, why do they keep getting fired or disciplined at work? Can they not join the dots between their appalling attitudes and behavour and the consequences it leads to?
I don't think they know the meaning of the word ethics. Singling out a vulnerable child for bullying by an adult in a position of power over them is very far from ethical.
"Turn on your side and bring your knees well up to your chest, you will feel a little pressure and slight discomfort" 😂😂😂
Not only that, but despite having a “high achiever” qualified lawyer in the family, they can’t even negotiate the legal system without constantly being told by judges that their arguments and tactics have no merit.
Your insinuation that my interest in womens sports being insincere is misplaced. I don't care for any sports, men's, or women's. I don't even bother with the world cup. What I do care for in this context is the unfairness caused by people having to bend over backwards to accommodate an agenda or person for whom the category should not be accommodating. I find it incredible that an average male athlete can declare himself a woman and dominate the women's category, smashing records along the way.
Again, correcting misinformation, wasn’t it the school who singled out the child when instructing staff that this particular child wished to be referred to as “they”?, my understanding is that Burke had no classes nor contact with the child.
You might have more information on this, did Burke have any interaction with the child?
Thanks for proving my point, way beyond my wildest expectations.
What is appalling is an employer mandating that staff call someone by a gender they are not. A request is one thing, but there was no request made. The way some people are going on in here, you'd swear Burke was standing on the dinner table throwing plates at his boss. The venue to object may not have been appropriate, but some things can't be left waiting. Burke spoke out when he could....its not how I'd have handled it. The root cause is not his reaction, its the push to force people into using false designations despite the beliefs of individuals such as Burke. Will it be OK when a student decides they are not a male or female, but rather they are a body part and they want to be "Cůnt"? How far do we let this slide before people get back to reality?
Are you saying that transgender people don’t exist then?
I don't think you understood my comment AJ. Either that, or you've bent over so far for the cause that you've created another bike parking spot.
They exist alright. However, a Mr can't be a Ms and chromosones don't change no matter what you do with your bits.
Sorry hynsie08, I’m only getting back to your post now, I forgot to reply.
The article was in the Independent, it is behind a paywall so you wouldn’t have come accross it in a search. The parent’s comments were quoted on discussion shows on The Last Word and Newstalk, I remembered hearing about the comments, I just had to find the reporter/article.
Sorry if you pooped a little thinking about it, I know it’s a struggle.

Ah nice try, you’ll attack Hitchens himself but you didn’t address any of his arguments of religion, to which there are a lot. What was he wrong about religion?
As for the blame Catholics get, they deservedly get it. Glance a very brief history book and it’s flooded with crimes that they have committed. If that’s too much hassle for you, just keep it to Ireland if you want. I don’t blame Catholics for “things”, I blame them for their actions.
Did they do them because they were Catholics?
I remember all those nonsense hypotheticals during the marriage referendum. "What happens when a man wants to marry his horse, eh what then?"
The transgender issue in this case was a request. Burke could have easily sidesteped the issue, he deliberately made a fuss to force a response and a confrontation. He's still doing that.
Nothing but an odious little bully.
KInd of proves his point.
But sure that's what these threads are all about.
All articles about your man in the the press over the next few weeks should refer to Mr. Burke as "they" and "their", along with it.
Just for the craic to pi$s him off
"The individual was released from jail, but they went back to the school so the judge sent them back to prison."
