New Munster chat thread folks. warning deserved there. https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=109477571#post109477571
Probably deserved more than the couple of caps he got (and definitely deserved better than some of the reaction he got) but has absolutely never let Munster down.
Still only 29 so not old by lock standards, and has improved his handling, so you never know, but I’d say it’s unlikely alright.
That was a very long pause after the bind. She seems to change the duration every time.
Kleyn continues to impress. An absolute shame he'll more than likely never wear green again.
Healy is the first choice now. He just signed a three year IRFU central contract and the last five days have been a giant episode of Punk'd. They had Ashton Kutcher on TG4 at half time.
He's having a really good game alright.
Man of the fuukin match
please
Quality from Patterson. Spotted the gap and mismatch with a lock and their TH up against him.
Lions had been defending so well but that's awful
Great eye from Patterson
The Munster scrum is being absolutely minced here, I'd genuinely don't know how you think they've been unlucky. Going backward at a rate of knots in a few of them, Lions unlucky on a few occasions not to have more penalties (and potentially one PT).
Josh Wycherley doesn't look ready for this level yet when you see him scrummage.
Munster on top in all other aspects, and Patterson, Kleyn and Haley in particular have been good.
Patterson is a gem, some find for us this season!
Will be interesting to see how long their THP can last in the second half, and who comes on for him. Comical appearance aside, he has been brilliant for them in this half (4 penalties? 5?).
Their THP has legit been the best player on the pitch through the first 47 mins here!
Some really great stuff there. Unlucky not to get over.
Mistake by Scannell there. Fekitoa did really well on scramble when we were narrow tho.
Nope, off after taking a knock
Munster has been unlucky with some of those scrum penalties but as the ref has penalised us then we're probably lucky not to someone in the bin.
Considering the weather I'm happy enough with the game so far.
Not having an out and out lock next to Kleyn isn't helping the scrum.
Discipline has been really good so far with most/all the penalties being at scrum time.
Fekitoa taking another step up from last week and Salona is having a great game in the loose, some hands for a big man.
Can someone catch me up why Crowley and Carbery aren’t playing tonight?
I was bigging him up before the game, but Tshituka made one of the worst decisions I've ever seen on a rugby pitch. Scrum going forward from 5m out, already 3 penalties won, and he picks up the ball, passes to the 9, who then gets clobbered behind the gain line.
From a potential PT to go 10-5 up, and possible YC, Munster then go back up the pitch to score and make it 12-3.
Hard to see how this doesn't become a cricket score in the second half. Just pin them in the corners with the wind and maul them to death.
Happy enough with that half. First try in particular, well worked.
Haley seems to be tasked with a little more kicking, and keeping it in field. It’s paying off in territory.
Kleyn just keeps on trucking and JOD having a good game too.
Scrum a huge issue tho.
Jean Klyen has been so good for Munster this season. Arguably the midpoint club POTY.
Last penalty looked harsh. Lions prop went down on the far side from the ref
They've no lineout, we've no scrum. Have to be happy with that 1st half though
Could’ve been, good shout.
There are Maersk class-A container ships that give up at least 5st to their THP.
Was Whycherly tactical? No doubt he was strugling in the scrum. At 17st, he must be giving up at least 5st to their THP.
Kleyn having a great game. Doesn't get due credit sometimes. He's an old style second row, absolutely melts the rucks.
Enjoying this to be honest. Crap conditions. Surprisingly few mistakes.
More like Hamish Watson in his style of play and stature. No bad thing that!
Two front rows gone off in the first half, not exactly what you want…
Kleyn and Coombes are getting through an amount of work
Well done JOD, super sharp stuff repeatedly there. Moves his feet so well away from the big hits, Coombes didn't earlier and was driven back 10 feet
