You can’t register a car against a reserved plate until that number has been reached in the normal sequence, So if hoping for a Q1 delivery your reservation would need to be relatively low but as @Gumbo said I too read of someone having a mare and not getting their reserved number as Tesla couldn’t or didn’t know how to do it but talk to them directly, they won’t hold a delivery past Q1 as they like to hit quarterly targets so you may need to defer delivery if they can do it and your number hasn’t been reached
That’s it actually, Tesla want to register the car and deliver it to meet delivery figures.
Another guy had a reserved plates, let’s just say it was 222D3333. But because the numbers of registrations hadn’t reached 3333 yet, Tesla couldn’t register it. So they wanted to shift the car to someone else.
Rumour has it that Tesla are about to reintroduce Radar to their cars (previously withdrawn) in a new move, effective in production from January 2023. Will this influence appetite from those with earlier deliveries ?

Anybody any idea when the next boat of model 3 deliveries are due in?
Was hoping back in September it would be January but now that doesn't seem to be the case :(.
Rarely would be Jan, that would require the cars to be in inventory at financial year end when the finance folks want stock low to improve financial ratios
Lots of speculation over on tesla motor club.com on shipping movements for jan 2023. Uncertainties on stock levels when factory shuts down from 20-30th jan.
Don't despair yet, activity levels will soon be evident and i attach a link which you will find interesting as a means of tracking activity - daily update from knowledgeable guys. Cars take approx 4 weeks shipping time from Shanghai and you wont usually hear anything official from Tesla until about 2 to 2 weeks prior to delivery to customer (usually the last month of each quarter). The allocation of a VIN is the first sign that an actual car has been matched to your order and this can be discoverable well ahead of getting a formal notification form Tesla. I am also attaching a link for a little app that you can download which is a user friendly way of searching for your VIN from your Tesla account page ... just follow the instructions.
Best of luck ..

Cheers for that...
No VIN number yet :(
Dont think its gonna happen overnight, patience…
Hahaha, the range in my leaf is killing me. I'm over a year waiting on a new electric, first ordered the Enyaq, then that was majorly delayed. Then the BZ4X, recalled. Orders the m3 in September.
Can't wait for a road trip more than 90km away and without charging :P
Haha you'll love it, supercharging makes the long trips very easy and stress free
My expected delivery date has changed to Feb 20 - Mar 09. Progress ?
Just checked mine is Feb 17th to Mar 5th
March delivery dates sound very plausible - usually there's a big push at the end of the quarter. Lot's of boardsies got theirs in March, Sept and December last year (not sure about June deliveries, I don't recall it being as big here on boards).
Mine now reads Feb 18th to March 6th 😁
I'm at the back of the queue :(
Feb 21st - Mar 9th. Ordered 9th Nov.
They'll all be on the same boat, you will probably be bumped up by all the cancellations .
Same here.
Will there be that many cancellations? Might not be as many as suggested on boards. There are possibly many who don't know or care about the sensor issue. There will of course be a cohort who won't be happy with the value they are getting on their current car.
I was onto Tesla today, they didn't blink when I said I'm not accepting the Y without USS. Said that can only be confirmed when VIN assigned. I'll play ball for the time being but made it clear, no USS = delivery decline
Mine is february 17 - march 05
It's something folk would not even consider thinking about as it's a given on all Tesla 3 and Y since inception. They might even drive away without noticing. So might even believe cameras will substitute for functionality but that will never happen for reasons explained to death on other threads
I ordered the Y circa November 20th , February/March
just checked account and delivery between February 21st and March 9th listed
Log into your account and clink on “your car”. It will tell you a delivery window. But take it with a pinch of salt.
I ordered last october. Since then everything on my account is completed. I'm trading in a 2020 LR Model 3 and it's showing "trade in valuation in progress" since.
When I brought the Y for a test drive in December, they told me on the phone they didn't see my trade in on the RN and we'd discuss when I was in but when I got there someone else said it was normal and wouldn't get a trade in until the car is about a month out.
I have no EDD on my app or my account so beginning to think something is screwed with my order.
Can anyone trading in confirm if they received a trade in price as part of the order process and also where in the app I should see EDD?
Thanks
I got a trade value back in October, so ordered in November. 2020 M3P.
I got an email on Tuesday, trade in expired, this is normal as it only lasts 30 days. I had to input my update mileage and it shows same as you now. From experiencing with Trading in with tesla, this process usually takes a week.
Thanks,, and do you have any delivery date estimate? I don't have anything anywhere
Go to Tesla site.
account.
manage (on the pic of your order)
click “your car”
