Where should I check for rust? Obviously there will be some in a car this age, but where would be a concerning area of the car to find rust?
on inner sills and arches, also pull up boot carpet and look. Strut towers can go bad
Anyone on here buy the blue Primera
Hi, selling a 2006 Ford Focus if any contributors are interested. Runs quite well, has four new tyres and NCTed until May 2023.
It's on donedeal, black ford focus 2006, based in Donegal. I can't post the link up, perhaps another contributor might be able to do so. Thanks.
I think you need 15 posts before you can post images or links. There is another thread for posting boardsie’s cars for sale. You might be able to post it there. Welcome to Boards and best of luck with the sale.

Here.
Too blooming far away!
Feel like I’m spamming this thread with C5’s but they really are great value
Mileage might be a bit high for some people on this one. But nearly a full year of NCT and Hydractive suspension as standard on the mk2 estates AFAIK. Tow bar too.

No hydractive suspension on this one. Hydractive was only on some of the 2.0HDi models.
Still a great comfortable car and if the 1.6HDi has been looked after they will keep going.
I went from a 2008 1.6HDi saloon to a 2010 163bhp 2.0HDi estate and the saloon was much more
comfortable believe it or not, even though both cars are on metal springs. I love the estate I have.
Comfort of a big French car and the practicality of a van.
Great to hear Gav. I wouldn’t have looked at a French car a few years ago and now I’ve a minor obsession with them 😂
Driven them and worked with them most of my life. Wouldn't have anything else.
I want to buy my old 2002 C5 estate back for semi-mental reasons! My other half wants
to change her car soon (2008 Peugeot 207) so I'm on the look out for a nice 2.0HDi 508.
They are making mad money at the minute. I'd take a 1.6HDi if it has been well looked after
but would prefer the 2.0
Odometer reading changes from 132K miles to 276K km in the 6-year gap in NCT dates?

@GavPJ What is the auto box like on the C5s?
Nothing strange there. It drove 70k km in the 6 years. Or more likely 70k km in 2 years and then off the road for the remaining 4
Thank you commentator. Car is now sold to gentleman in Clare.
On the Mk 1 and Mk 2 C5's they were not great once they started to give trouble.
The newer ones seem fine. Watch the tax bracket the auto's fall into. Some are
€800 to €1200 to tax for a year!!!
Keep posting Lads. I urgently have to get a sub 2000 euro car with lots of load space :)
Loads of room
Cheap tax
Nct'd
Pity there aren't any interior photos but worth finding out thanks.
I would bet any money that car's being sold by a member of camp sites. I wouldn't pay a cent for it.
How do you know that. Easy to find out by calling him up if you were interested and hearing his voice/accent.
I'm a member, what about it
A 2k car.
Can't be too picky.
If it's what you are after, eyes wide open it's worth at least a call.
By the hack of it, it's almost certainly an ex taxi, the milage is more than likely double or treble what's stated and it's clear as day it's a UK spec that spent most of it's life being salted to death on UK roads. At a quick glance, it's a lemon.
What are UK spec telltale signs? Not disagreeing - genuinely would like to know what would distinguish it, I know for instance the cabin electronics are often better on Yaris' that I've looked at on Gumtree UK...is it the standard cruise control and electric mirrors/windows?
^ The reg plate makes it an import. And 99% of them are GB/NI
Have this in "boarsdsies own cars" aswell, like I said its priced high to fend off bottom feeders, but its also really hard to price as there's no others for sale here anywhere and seem to be silly money in UK.
Anyway will do a deal with a boardsie, somebody somewhere might have a soft spot for one of these.
This seems alright out of budget but only a small bit and you may be able to haggle a small bit off. NCT till 10/23, cheap tax and manual gearbox.

I did a cartell on the Octavia above because I'd free credit. Ex taxi. Milage cannot be real. Also a UK import. Few other things on the report but nothing major.
Eyes WIDE WIDE open.
