It was widely reported when the situation arose that the school had no complaints with his teaching of students, and if you look at the articles at the time, reporters said they spoke to parents who acknowledged that he was a well respected, and liked teacher. Google is your friend.

The disciplinary issue was down to his insistance on turning his reluctance to address the child into a public and very aggressive attack on the principal of the school in a public setting. Schools are hierarchical and clear, he could have take his issue to the Board or to his union rep ECT instead he chose to act in a wildly disregulated manner in public ........this does raise questions around someone's fitness to teach. If you screamed and shouted at your boss at work publically, to the point they had to be shielded by others would you expect no recourse? Or be surprised is people had questions around your competency to be in a position of power over minors?

Just to add, contempt can be changed to a custodial sentence if it goes on too long and this has happened in the past.
This, again, is likely a reason why the school may not ask for enforcement of the injunction, basically it would open-end the time frame of this farce.
Better for them and the students to get the disciplinary hearing over and done with as everything, for him, rests on the outcome of that.
It's why he is so desperate to stop the hearing from proceeding.

He was remanded to Mountjoy by direction of the judge due to the non-compliance with the injunction. Judges can direct Gardai to deliver someone to the court /jail etc in such circumstances.
This is my layman understanding of the situation so open to correction.

Sorry, quotation punctuation is used when you are quoting what another person/poster has said. It changes the mean of the word from the plural “they” to a reference to a word used said.

One of the problems with the Burkes is the "binding results". Take a look at their statements and press releases. All of them, when the legal process doesn't go their way, complain of errors of fact, of travesty of justice, of simply not accepting the court's findings or rulings. Basically, even thought they spend a lot of time utilising the legal system, they don't actually believe in the legal system. And while that was merely expressed through social media statements and courtroom outbursts the the past, Enoch's jail stunt seems to have upped the ante in this regard.
Regarding the "timely" process, he's been simultaneously complaining that any date given for any hearing isn't soon enough, while also attempting to prolong the process as much as possible though spurious complaints, non-participation, injunctions and all the rest.
There is no criminal offence being committed.

Frustrating and all as it may be, you can be sure that the Gardai and the School have got clear legal advice on what they can do and what they can't do. If they overreach, they are playing into Burke's hands.
You can be absolutely certain that the Courts are far from naïve. The judge knew exactly what was going to happen.
Because the Judge issued a specific instruction for his arrest on that occasion.
I'm not trying to offend anyone, but basically a biological man who had surgery to get his genitalia altered to the opposite sex would be considered to be still a man under this metaphysical schema.
The "change" to womanhood would be considered to not have really happened, and the belief that it had happened an error.

Unfortunately, the only difference between him and a whole heap of other teachers is that he takes the legal route publicly. We don't get rid of teachers.
Out of 109,000 teachers, only two were removed from the register by the Teaching Council after multi-year disciplinary investigations and court cases. That is 0.00183%.
Edit: Oops, I was wrong, we didn't even get rid of two. "In the second case, the teacher was retained on the Register subject to a fitness to teach condition"
So that reduces the rate to 0.00092%.
The problem there is that your taking notice of what they are saying, which is both a terrible idea and a complete waste of time.
