Sorry to disagree with on the people with kids, we have two secondary school lads in the house and his name or the subject has never come up in any conversation in school or at home, have you kids. Kids talk about every day things on social media and subject going from sport to make up to evenflow to music but not this clown.

But it won't stop people talking about the issue of pronouns and related topics in classrooms. Which is probably what he set out to achieve. He is not the only reason people are talking about this issue, but he keeps it in the news.

He's a Protestant and the whole family are Protestants. They are Bible Christian fundamentalists with no connection to RCC.

How that push Protestant school employed an ultra orthodox Catholic zealot is beyond me, with his broader family background of being ultra orthodox RC. Don’t know the timescale of his employment of course, maybe none of the general nightmare potential was foreseeable. Perhaps they were just keen to get a teacher with a generally strong Christian ethos & he fitted the bill.
He can stick to opinions and beliefs all he likes provided he stays away from the school while he's suspended.
As for this "Alpha" crap, it's used by people in severe need of growing up.
It is a civil court order, which the Gardai have no role in enforcing, unless there is a breach of the peace or similar.
It's 2 fingers to the rule of law and democracy, the constitution - so 2 fingers to all of us. Consider that before you rejoice - because the same law protects you yourself; maybe imagine world where it didn't and see if that would suit you and him.
He's fully entitled to his beliefs and opinions, and those are fully protected by the law, but he is not entitled to break the law - which he has.
You either respect the democracy and the rule of law, or you embrace anarchy. He has the protection of the law to further his beliefs and opinions same as everybody else, but he must abide by the law - nothing more/nothing less.

It was the fact that he couldn't attend a closed school so couldn't breech the court order and as a result, keeping him locked up served no lawful purpose.

Enoch Burke is now an issue and making the news not teenagers and pronouns. How come none of his colleagues, fellow teachers or teaching unions are coming out in support of him and his position.
He is simply an attention seeking zealot like the rest of his family. The school will be well rid of him.
He’ll be fired by the school, not by Department. The school is his legal employer, which just makes it trickier, given that they have to fund their own legal advice and representation.

People with kids might disagree with you, most of the people I know do.
I find it odd that you are the third person now to insist that this isn't an issue, yet we are on a thread about what is now a person who has become a household name because of a topic you (and others) insist no one cares about... I thought you'd welcome the fact that everyone would have an opinion. Most people are capable of holding opinions/views on a number of different public issues at any given time...in my circles anyway!!

Someone sticking to their beliefs and opinions despite the state, the media and all the people being against them is highly commendable and like I said the behaviour of an Alpha.

In the circles I move in, pronouns are not an issue at all. I don't think it is the hot topic you think it is.
People have more important things to worry about.
For the zillionth time, his "beliefs" and "opinions" are not what caused him to be suspended, or end up in court, or end up in prison. As much as you'd love to pretend they are.
