You are the second poster to attempt to dismiss the fact that the issue (this issue and other related issues) are pervasive in our society/culture, and people will form opinions, I thought you'd be thrilled to hear that!!
The only times I’ve heard it discussed, outside boards, is people asking why he can’t just leave the kid alone.

This is about the topic of Pronouns and related topics, that are very much part of every day conversations all the time now. You'd imagine the folks that are perfectly fine with kids using pronouns in classrooms would be thrilled to hear that...but it seems not!

Having adults hanging around on school premises who don't have permission to be there is really not a thing we need to normalise.

He has a meeting coming up soon which will deliver the results of his disciplinary process, where presumably he will be fired by the department of education for some of his actions outside of the pronoun issue.
As soon as he is off the payroll he will probably take a case for unfair dismissal and shortly after thats resolved his 15 minutes of fame will end and he can go back to beating bibles around his cave in mayo.
For the zillionth time, his "beliefs" and "opinions" are not what caused him to be suspended, or end up in court, or end up in prison. As much as you'd love to pretend they are.
In the circles I move in, pronouns are not an issue at all. I don't think it is the hot topic you think it is.
People have more important things to worry about.
