Allowing services to be held on the 25th or 7th is very different to the OPs claiming that Ukrainians would refuse to celebrate the 7th, and that the 7th would be "just another orc day". And its the OCU not UOC who made that decision
Unfortunately we have a group of posters who will always say the opposite
To the best of my knowledge, nothing is set in stone and a church can decide when to hold its feast days and festivals. They are mostly based on long standing tradition or common practise and do not come from the Bible. The Russians themselves actually banned Christmas for much of the Soviet era.
I know, but there good for a laugh
A church can decide to celebrate Jesus' landing on Mars if they so please - it doesnt mean they actually will do it.
Banning christmas on the 7th because they dont like Russia is like Ireland deciding to ban christmas on the 25th because of the British empire and 800 years etc. The british do not own the 25th of december the same was Russia has no claim to the 7th. Posters claiming Ukraine will abandon it or that it is an "orc day" are too far gone down the rabbit hole it seems.
During the Azov steel plant siege, the Russians often agreed to safe passage for the elderly and sick citizens only later to break their word on the day. Russians are not to be trusted under any circumstances.
Probably jealous of all the young Russian lads with their lives ahead so has no issue lobbing them into the meat grinder.
I can remember back at the start of the war, Russia shelling evacuation corridors that were agreed to. Plenty of horrific stories and footage as said war crimes.
Let's hope HIMARS is checking his list and getting ready to deliver presents to the Frontline!
I know. I had a mother and two children stay with us for 2 days last summer, her husband was fighting in there.
Filmed 11 years ago. Boris Nemtsov - " Putin will go the way of Gaddafi, Ben Ali."
Assassinated 27th february 2015 in Moscow.
Don't forget the unexpectedly high prevalence of defenestration that's occurring on putin's watch, no doubt unleashed by the west.
This is what a Ukrainian thinks of the Christmas celebration ceasefire.
Makes sense after Macron's announcement. I'd say it was all discussed beforehand and maybe Macron needed to start the NY with something better than appeasement.
(It's not your country to surrender Macron!)
The Bradleys have been doing the rounds since Last week, still nothing is concrete even the Maraders that ukraine offered to buy several times but were denied which ended up in Greece .
I think there is a lot of Hopeful guessing by some on social media,
Amx 10s are on their way.
The Bradleys were on the table was the quote going around or they were not ruled out etc.... It's now being reported as sources confirming it. It's looking more likely compared to last week. The sooner the better!
The fact these are the first tanks to be supplied by the west tells us all we need to know about how serious they have been taking this so far.
They ready need to just give Ukraine what they need to finish this off once and for all.
Stop dragging their heels.
Prigozhin warns prisoners who have served their time fighting in Ukraine that on their release, that the are not to drink, use drugs, rape or get up to no good after they are released. I wonder how long they will manage to stay clean?

Remember the Germans were refusing to send tanks or armor to make sure no one went it alone and sent tanks and dragged Nato into the war ,
Suddenly french stand up and say we're sending Amx 10s and bastion armoured vehicles
Some Ukrainian sources are claiming Bradleys to be announced tomorrow along with the German Maraders,I'm not buying the Germans have done a complete 180 , they have repeatedly said no and very publicly said no to sending Maraders,
Especially with the Last reports of their new puma IFVs being pulled from service and using the Maraders to cover them on exercises till some issues are ironed out on that system
Also translates as what Russia thinks of the meaning of being religious.
They'd be fools to give up the opportunity of vapourising the invaders, if they gather together to celebrate a religion where their leader glorifies war on the ukrainians.
what has Putin got up his sleeve? Nukes for the Julian Christmas anybody?
Marders being sent to Ukraine, along with the Bradleys and the French "totally not a tank" tank, things are going to get interesting.
The Bradley-
There's lots of posters here on this forum, with different experience's of Ukraine, Russia and the War, or with none at all. But for sure, to meet a Ukrainian as you have done, spoken with them, lived with them even for a short while, is on a different level. Travelling down from Dublin on the train a few months ago, a Ukrainian lady and her 10 year old son happened to sit beside me in the carriage. She had little or no English, but her son had a fairly good grasp of it, so we were able to converse. Like your story, her husband was back in Ukraine fighting, and she was very worried about him. Her story was heart breaking......Home, Life everything destroyed. Lucky to have survived the murderous Russian attacks on her home town. And twice lucky to have arrived in Ireland, and placed with lovely family, who treated them as one of their own, and for which she is eternally grateful. But when she spoke about what was happening in her homeland, it would cut right through you.
I think it's safe to say that the russian invaders on the front line won't have much peace.
The orcs don't seem to be so pleased about it either.
@Hobgoblin11
what has Putin got up his sleeve?
Nothing. Russia will keep trying the same strategy until they're incapable of waging offensive operations in Ukraine. They're about as militarily sophisticated as the space invaders from 'Space Invaders'.
The UK can also provide tanks to Ukraine, British Foreign Minister James Cleverley said.
Who's next?😁
Its turning into a tank love-in.
Credit where credit is due, the Horde started this trend many months ago and the hesitancy on the part of the west I have found inexplicable, given that generosity.
Gangrene, hopefully.
Bindens not buying into the ceasefire either he's happy to bomb, hospitals , nurseries and churches on December 25 and Jan 1st
