I tested the LKA in city traffic. I turned off TJA and switched on the LKA. It was dangerously sort of locking the steering wheel in the position it thought was right and I had to really steer it back by force to where I wanted it. No experience with LKA but this felt really annoying and dangerous to me.
Go to 2:30. They correctly estimate the range to be 200 kms (130 miles) in cold weather at motorway speeds. This is in line with my tests so far 240-250 Wh/km.

I've contacted my insurance company (Aviva) to give them heads up I'll be looking to insure a new to market car soon. Might be advisable for any others waiting too as they'll have to add the MG4 to their system, and need their underwriters to do an assessment
My wife has been back and forth with Aviva the last few days and the only comparable car on their system, at the moment, for them to give an estimated quotation is the MG5. I would expect the actual quote to be a bit cheaper as the MG5 starts at approx €35k afaik.
Don't hold your breath - the valueof the car being insured is only a small part of the cost of the premium.

There's two versions of MG5.
Are you saying the lower spec one is 38 k????
Frank Keane's mentioned that the MG5 Excite would be "heading for 38K with the Facelift in January". Didn't bother to get a figure for Exclusive as certainly above the ZS now at 40K OTR.
Order book is 75% taxi drivers as well. What a sweet deal there.

I've ordered a blue Exclusive too but it's not due til March, I hadn't been seeking the cheapest one or anything, it's just my Dad has ordered a Toyota that's pretty much the same red that MG do and I wanted something different. Plus my wife is sick of grey and silver cars, which is all we've ever had

I just loved the blue with the black contrasting panels, and then being told it was standard settled the issue
Just adding this set of photos for anyone interested. Firstly, these were taken on 16th Dec at Frank Keane Dublin - the red car (mine) is from the row of new vehicles that had, literally, arrived into the dealer the day before.
As for the other photos, the blue is the MG4 and the white is an (old model) MG5 for comparison purposes as I find it helpful to have something in it to get a sense of space in the boot. The boot is cosy but usable. And hopeful news that the MG Denmark site is now selling roof bars for the MG4 (https://mgmotors.dk/tilbehoersshop/) so that implies the car is getting roof rack certification soon enough…
One note on the winter range concerns many are mentioning. The MG4 Uk group on Facebook have spotted the ‘intelligent battery heating’ is very thirsty and by turning it off and only enabling in advance of a long drive, or 20-30 mins before arriving at a fast charging hub, is the best approach. Many users are getting into the 340km range in low single-digit temperatures with long-distance 110km/hr driving. I’ll take that in winter - that means a Dublin to the west coast drive in winter is entirely viable without a stop for a charge and that’s all I really care about. (Or of course, stop 2/3 of the way there for a 30-min coffee break and get it back up to 80%….).

Looks like an Exclusive, you can see the camera built into the front bumper. That's how you tell the Excite and the Exclusive apart from the front.
Yes looks like Exclusive the roof is black, I passed Sheils early and 2 Exclusive ready for collection tomorrow blue and grey.
Any further progress with Avivia on this? Still no sign of the MG4 on their systems.
I called the AA today to try get a quote and they said to ask the garage for the closest match and they'll use that until its on their system
My wife was told to come back when she has the reg number and they should be able to sort it out then. If the software update has been done hopefully it will only be a few days before she gets the car!
Got my reg this morning but car not ready for another little while as PDIs taking time......suits me as selling my own car 1st
