Chilling in front of the telly with the OH after dinner and a full day of working from home, marking student assignments.
His flu is definitely abating a bit, but my own bad headcold now seems to be getting worse. π€

At least the temps are somewhat milder. I'm taking a week off work and the out of office notice is gone up. Working for yourself is very hard, but at least you can stick the two fingers up and take the financial pain. Despite our personal situation, we are about to book next Christmas in Tenerife from December 23rd to January 6th. Life is too short folks. When you run the figures it works out the same but without the grim weather, fake happiness and the massive impact on your mental health. All going well, I hope to bid you a Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Sun in just under 12 months!
Makes sense to get away at Christmas time. Staying in the same place and same problems for an extended period, plus all the expectations of Christmas would drive one crazy. One day I'll do it. π€£

Ugh another dark wet morning here and cold by my standards, so off to work I go :):)
The continuous rain this year is rather unique. The problem is that in a country that doesnβt have one river, the water has to go somewhere so it creates its own run-offs, the videos yesterday showed what happens when you try to cross these wadis. When we drove north for Christmas, there were plenty of signs that said if the water on this road is higher than 0.5 meters donβt cross. Thatβs why I didnβt venture south after Christmas, just too much rain.
We are small, so depending on weight /temperatures, anywhere between 120-150 nautical miles per hour. Ears pop with the equalisation of pressure, so for me it only happens if I have an ear blockage, holding your nose closed and equalising the pressure works. It also helps that our cabin altitude is lower than on a airline jet, so not so much of an issue.

I wasn't sure whether they were to come down tonight or after tomorrow. I know tomorrow is Little Christmas, but tonight is the twelfth night. Oh well, I've started so I'll finish ππ

Wrap the tree in cling film like they are showing on Instagram and bingo just take it out of the attic next Christmas and it's ready to go.
Ermm ππππ Right, top end of kitchen is Robin themed and the crib , lights in windows and on archway,bottom end is Tree and snowman themed with lights behind them , sitting room is Santa and window lights ππ

My tree is mostly newbridge decorations and I repack them each year into their individual boxes/pouches....I'm beginning to think life is way too short for that lark but I know I'll be devastated if they broke for the sake of an hour or 10.
We usually leave it up for a fair bit of January...nice to have something cheerful in the room.
