This guys in the news quite a lot recently.
This seems a bit too far. Is primary a bit too young for this ideology? Certainly “endocrine supports” for young kids seems a bit scary as the changes can be irreversible.

We have a person here that sees nothing wrong with discussing Transgenderism with 4 year olds. Give your head a big wobble . My goodness. They live amongst us folks
it is real, for a tiny % of the population. Travellers suffer a lot of the same issues and make up a bigger % of the population, i dont see O Gorman speaking about educating kids about our travelling community.
A child's mother never becomes it's father no matter how many fooking cartwheels you do and hoops you jump through.
The minister for open borders states
He also called for a “wider gender service” in Ireland.
Currently, children and young people travel to the Tavistock clinic in the UK as the State does not have its own dedicated psychiatric service for gender dysphoria.
“The issues aren’t just the psychiatric supports, there’s also the endocrine supports,” said Mr O’Gorman..
This is the shyte coming out of that brain dead fooker at a time when we have kids dying on hospital trolleys becuase they couldn't get a bed.
We don't have a functioning mental health facilities, but he wants to setup a service for a tiny proportion of the polulation, although I suppose according to the likes of him half the fooking country don't known if they are male or female anymore.
FFS zealots like that clown should be fooked out of power for their incessant drive to push their views on an entire country and society no matter the cost.
Sure they discuss Santy Claus too. I'm talking about actually teaching kids the basics to learn these actual life important skills. We live on an Island that sees multiple drownings every single year yet no curriculum led mandatory Swim classes. A lot of the same people that want the Irish language removed from schools because it only effects a small percentage of the overall population, therefore deemed useless, see no problem with adding this useless subject to the curriculum.
Yes indeed, gays are no longer victims so a new trendy cause is required
You can’t have been looking very hard. This was only from last October -
Minister Roderic O’Gorman TD, Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth launched the report and reiterated the opportunity it provides for improved implementation of policies affecting the Traveller community.

So there are people out there, going out of there way, telling kids directly that transgenderism doesn't exist?
And if they ask about it, do you think they get told about it?
I didn't say it was tbh but if you interpret it that way then that's your issue.
I don't think there's anyone on this thread denying transgenderism exists. Disagreeing with your views on this being part of a primary curriculum is not someone denying it exists.
You’ll be very glad to know that the legislation on that is already before the Dáil at the moment:
I think you need to reign back in the talk there.
I ain't trying to alienate anyone. I'm make a decision around when and how my children learn about various aspects of life while trying to teach them at all times to be kind and understanding.
You are advocating a false choice. It is not either "better gender services" OR "functional mental health facilities". Same as we do not have a choice between "more hospital beds" OR "more nurses".
Don't use a false dichotomy to push your agenda, it looks weak.
Glad my lad is no longer in school here.
I am, but Roderic O'Gorman doesnt have anything to do with it. It originated in the senate years ago.
You know well that you don't have to have a situation where there are people going out of their way telling children directly that something doesn't exist in order for it to be discussed in school. That's not a real question. You're veering into sealioning, instead of debating in a respectable way.
I don't think there's anyone on this thread denying transgenderism exists.
You haven't read the thread, have you?
Yeah, men cannot become women and women cannot become men. Lets keep the fairytales we tell kids restricted to religion.
At least you’re honest about your beliefs, Dyr. I can respect that.
Reality is not a belief.
And in this instance, what does Roderic have to do with the Department of Education, or the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment?
What if your reality is a set of preconceived stereotypes?
Here Here well said
There is no current problem with kids not accepting the various genders out there. That is ultimately the crux of this.
As a parent I would greatly prefer to control when and what my kids get exposed to in relation to how they treat and accept other people.
Also, why do you use the term 'sealioning'?
I don't think either person you've referenced has suggested that transgendered people don't exist......
Buddhists would have a debate with you on this!
Chromosomes are a "stereotype" now? What's the liver? Some make of dense granite?
I think your confusion about gender makes an excellent point. We need more education on these topics, for children and adults alike.
I am, unless you wish to go back to home-schooling and/or removing lots of other parts of the curriculum which used to be left to parents. You can of course ask for your kids to be excluded during such lessons as they allow for other topics. My point was that if it had been part of the curriculum when you grew up, you would see that it isn't a big deal today and you are putting yourself in the category of outraged parents which is going to continue causing issues as curriculum evolve, but that will be your burden to bear and be outraged about, which is fine, the world will move on regardless.
Please, educate me on my confusion.
Trans people are real
More what about a man marrying his horse drivel 🤣
Whatabout whataboutery.
You must be reading a different thread.
Let kids be kids and keep this stuff out of Primary schools. Time enough with that later.
