Jaysus PM! Only 20 years ago? I remember those days well. The last mad NYE I had was probably 2001. I was 30. A doner kebab at two in the morning waiting on a Taxi with a couple getting at it on a car bonnet beside us.. shocking stuff!

Just fed the tribe their breakfast........we all stayed up late last might but it felt different last night compared to other new years eve.....herself said the same, don't know if it's because the chicks are getting older as are we but there didn't seem to be a buzz around it.
Im starting fitness classes this Wednesday as I've put about 4 stone on in the last two years......to be honest, im dreading it. I lost weight before in my 30's but im twenty years older now and the oul jizz doesnt seem to be there anymore, so hopefully the anti inflamortories will help π€£π€£π€£π€£

Oh I so enjoyed Christmas etc! But the dratted M.E is starting to relapse as I was doing more than usual. I blame the oven for throwing a tantrum ! ( not saying any more about that!)

Afternoon all, the first one of 2023... π We only got up an hour ago.
Iβd imagine many will be dying of a hangover today on New Years Day after last nightβs festivities. I myself am dying of heartburn from indulging in chocs, cheese & crackers and rich treats whilst watching two Netflix films into the wee hours smoking some happy baccy with my OH who is doing a little better today. ππ
Thinking of getting out and going for a good walk in the Phoenix Park...but then again, feeling βmehβ about that plan and a lazy day will probably be on the agenda.
@ purple - yep, remember the days in my 20s in the late 90s/early 00s when myself and my mates would head into town on NYE, into a jam-packed pub where you could barely breathe, let alone move and a scrum for the bar and beer in a plastic cup, music so loud you couldnβt actually talk to anyone, try to get into a club later on and 2+ hour queue for a taxi home or just walk in the direction of home hoping a city bound cab would stop and maybe pick you up. The sh*te you put up with in your 20s for socialising! πππ

Took in-laws dog for a walk. She insisted on a long walk and refused to move when I tried to sneak in a short cut. Lovely day out to be honest. All the birds singing like it's Spring.
Speaking of which, there is a St. Bridget's bank holiday on 6th February this year!
Thinking of the packed pubs years ago + before smoking ban. Yuck!!

I had an accident a week before Christmas. Slipped on ice and broke 2 bones in my leg, was in the hospital, and had major surgery. Home now few days and recovering. Off my feet for at least 6 weeks (am hopping around with a frame). Bit down about it π

Nursing it all day wit paracetamol. Covid test negative, hopefully just a 24.hr thing.
Severe dose of the Glenroes also and not back till tuesday.

Jan is our busiest time in work and my right hand woman won't be back until next Monday due to a family bereavement. I have a week of hell ahead of me.
