As our course is mainly grass/trail we are still looking at proceeding be it with a few tweaks.
We will, as always, carry out our Pre-Event Course Check, at which time we will make final decision.

I doubt anywhere can be 100% positive. But Griffeen is still alive according to their facebook page, though the race stewards will walk the track in the morning. I'd be dubious as most on that side of the city are gone, unless they managed to avoid the worst of the weather.

Lots cancelled in Cork city too, luckily Mallow Castle went ahead, a beautiful if chilly morning!
Was amazed at the lack of any ice on the course in Mallow Castle, we were supposed to be going to Youghal but got the message they were cancelling around 8am. Ballincollig was ice free as well which was a surprise.
I think we met on Saturday 😀, nice to put a face to a username!
Just an FYI if anyone is looking for a Parkrun with little risk of it being cancelled Vicarstown is pretty much guaranteed to be on whatever the weather.

Bushy park should go ahead tomorrow, corkagh hoping to go ahead too. Check online before leaving the house (bed!) though.
Mountbellew is out, a few others I'm looking at, mainly the ones that went ahead last week, are doing early morning course inspections before making a call.
Waterstown will be assessed in the morning before any decision......could go either way. The paths there weren't great during the week.

Im still on for it. But not sure ill make it. Im in West Cork Christmas morning. The 2 local parkruns there arent on so would have to drive 3 hour round trip. And Christmas eve is a bit of a session in the house im going to.
I'm thinking about doing a challenge next year, thinking of calling it 32in23 where I plan to do one parkrun in each of the 32 counties of Ireland over the course of 2023 (gives me 20 weeks to volunteer locally) but of course the dumb question is, are there Parkruns in all 32 counties? No point in taking this up and finding out they don't have any in, I dunno, Leitrim.
Yes, all counties now have a parkrun, Leitrim was the last with Ballinamore Greenway which started a few months ago.
Are all parkruns tomorrow at 9:30 or are there some 11am runs
I think they changed the rules so that they couldn't change start times when they removed the chance of double runs,otherwise people would be tempted to try and break the system.

Ran my 140th parkrun today in Mallow Castle, not an official milestone but a nice round number to end the year 😍. Thanks as always to everyone involved in organising, volunteering and in our case today, out sweeping the mud and water off the footpaths so we could run! Working my way towards 100 volunteers too, currently at 80.

Very sad to learn that Padraig Brogan, the event director at Erris Parkrun passed away this week. Not an easy one to get to, but we made the trip a few times, mainly because of the welcome he and his team gave us.
He really epitomised the spirit of parkrun for me and others and will be sorely missed by the parkrun community around the country.
I got an apple watch for Christmas.
Previously used fitbit and had my parkrun barcode installed on it.
anyone any ideas how to get the barcode on to apple watch.
