Whats with Cancelo like? Can't get that one. His lack of minutes for Portugal also was a worry.

I mainly did it to afford Darwin instead of Mitrovic. So it's not as clairvoyant as it might look!

As someone with no city defenders - Cancelo on the bench would be ideal, although I do have Foden, perhaps he gave some of the WC players time off.

Some comments that Philips wasn’t the only one to come back overweight so might explain why others are benched

I don’t want to worry you but I picked my team Christmas night and swore I wouldn’t change it. I then made 3 changes on Stephen’s morning - Kepa to DDG, Shaw to James and Salah to KDB. Given how the first two worked out I have a feeling we are looking at a KDB blank :(
