Nice return for December.
Nice clear day today 13kWh
6.33 kWh today.
6kwh from 4wkp SSE in West Co Meath
5.56 here
Some good information in this thread. I am looking into getting solar PV at the moment so doing some research so that the salespeople wont be feeding me what suits them. Is there any calculations that can be used to estimate on what I can expect to generate? Is there perhaps a website that would tell me what range one can expect to get on a day in May or June and what would also be useful is what one can get at various times of the day? I understand it varies hugely from day to day but trying to figure out my sizing and whether to get a battery, note it is for a farm that uses power all day but peaks a few times a day.

Wow - tomorrow looks right muck.
Hi @bullit_dodger Is your solar program available to try out or just for personal use?
11.8kWh today, seems to be generating power until a bit later in the day the last few days, maybe it starts a bit later as well?
Grand stretch in the evening now 😂
But yes the evenings are getting longer, mornings still a bit later until the start of Jan but we're over the shortest day
had to read the explanation a few times!
2.4wkh here today. SSE
5.9 here, practically nothing until around 11 when the fog lifted
what website do you use to get this?
You need to commercialise that for the less intelligent amongst us and come set up our houses on HA.
3.8 kwh today. Up and down with cloud.
Do people find the projections on this site close to accurate? It is showing a higher annual production than I would have expected
I find it's accurate for ballpark production predictions but with our variable north-east Atlantic weather, don't expect anything other than that.
Yeah it's pretty on the mark, some months you might beat it, some months you might not reach it,
It works of historical data and the year on average doesn't change much
If you have no shading there is a better chance of accuracy
0.9kwh yesterday. 0.9kwh today.
Oh well it is battery cheap night rate time:-)
0.4kwh yesterday and 1.3kwh today. The panels are super clean though :-)
2.36kwh today
I'll see what I can pull up, csv ok?
Wrong thread.
Take the panels kWp and multiply by about 0.85 and that gives in MWh your potential annual generation.
You can never go wrong with 4kWp of panels, as your self use will be very hight with that.
A battery really now depends on whether you have a day / night meter or not. Without means that you get paid for exported power, but then it might make sense to add as many panels that you can.
My panels were split left and right and low winter sun, much lower than I expected left a shadow creeping across the lower section all day and output dropped off the charts max an 12 noon 2.2kWh.(6kW ground mounted due south)
I changed them last week to top and bottom and output has jumped from between 500W to 1kWh for most of the day, noticeable difference already.
Would optomisers on the bottom row boost my overall output by much and is there much difference between the €50 amazon ones and the €120 ones the wholesalers are selling? Wouldn't you be better off getting few new panels than paying €120 for optomisers anyway?
If the shade is consistent across the bottom of the panels. Then no
In-depth video (it's been posted before, )
....and Winter shading never (financially) worth optimising
