It is made by BYD aka Build Your Dreams. Hope it comes here and that they change the name before it does,
This could really challenge the Tesla Model 3.
It looks great inside and out
Clearly copyright laws still don't exist in china.
"I bang my head every time I get in and out" - that was when i stopped watching.
reminds me of this...

Ye the Tesla cars are really something someone would Want to copy with there stubby nose and no dash not.
BYD shows how it should be done.
Here is a review from Auto Express on it. Looks promising. Only thing is that 32 thousand bounds will probably be more like 50 thousand Euros here.,

Good looking car.
I'd go see it if/when it lands here and is not stupidly priced.
Thankfully we are all have our own opinions, the aerodynamic front and the excellent info screen are two things I really like with my Model 3..☺️
Their pre-2007 logo was a clear rip-off of BMW's too.
Looking at other RHD markets for this car:
The Seal, or Atto 4 as it is likely to be renamed will be showcased at Auto Expo India 2023 starting 13th Jan.
It is to go on sale in RHD in Australia in the second half of the year.
Taking a look at pricing for a comparable car:
Tesla Model 3 Perf: AUS $89,900 = € 57,741. Actual price in Ireland €68990
That's about a 20% rip-off Ireland premium.
BYD Atto 4 AWD: AUS $62000 estimated. = €39810. Add 20% and it would be €47743
If it comes in anywhere near that price, it would be extremely competitive.
So here is a very positive review on the Seal and do you know what I like that name now,
Another positive review,
It looks good but price will make or break this car.
Yes you could be right.
It's competition is the m3 at 40k and up.
If it comes in at say 45k for similar specs, it likely won't sell
For a similar sized battery I'd say they'll have to price it at least 3-5k less than an M3 to have any chance of selling it.
It's a decent looking car and the interior looks way nicer than a model 3. Don't think they'll have necessarily have to undercut Tesla to sell them. It's a lot newer car from a large EV manufacturer. Didn't Musk himself say it's a model 3 killer.
I don't think so, especially if they get a few dealers around Ireland and offer competitive trade in prices.
The vast majority of Irish buyers wouldn't travel outside their own county to buy a car and wouldn't buy one "online".
I agree, it's a decent looking car and I'd prefer the interior to the model 3 as well.
I just can't see brand loving, cautious Irish customers taking a risk on an unknown brand that's just setup in the country.
They'll want financial incentives to make taking that risk worthwhile.
They done it with Dacia yes it was cheap and cheerful when it first came here but was also on unknown brand and with Tesla which were not cheap but lead the way in what they do so I do not see why Irish car customers would not buy one of these if they are priced and fpecced well as well as having a dealer network and good advertising. I can see people who thought about or would have bought a Tesla if they had a dealer network but were put off by them not having one buy one of these.
Dacia were owned by Renault, so customers knew they get a similar level of service/reliability.
Tesla built up a brand and a reputation, long before getting they started to make affordable cars.
And I'm guessing customers put off the Tesla's buying process would probably just buy their usually legacy brands EV offering anyway.
Dacia is Renault so not completely the same
being owned by renault was supposed to give people a warm fuzzy feeling?? 😃
Yes. Why does it not give you one? Renaults are stylish, Classy, well built and well specced.
Wait until you see the absolute swarm of MG5s that are about to hit the road and keep hitting the road for the next year. There's a 5 month lead time everywhere at the moment, they are getting loads in but selling them equally as fast.
Yep, to taxi drivers though.
I was up in Dublin yesterday and seen plenty of MG5s about both the new and old model. Good to see. They are a great car and a great taxi too.
An Irish review on the Seal, mentions an October launch.

Still no price announcement.
I assume only the lower spec version will land here, any confirmation?
The normal 0-100km/h time is stated as 0-70km/h on the Irish BYD site. Typo or?
It's definitely on the short list at next year's replacement time. Finances depending of course.
Prices coming Monday I believe. Speculation of below 45k for the RWD and below 50k for the AWD. An entry model with a smaller battery coming at some point next year.
Getting interesting now!, Thanks 👍
Afternoon all. New to boards but happy to answer any questions on the cars I've reviewed.
I've a 2nd video on the channel where I drove it in Munich on Monday.
