Clerical Officer in the Civil Service 2022 | Civil Service - publicjobs.ie
PPSN fiasco?
Last time I got overtime was over 20 years ago 😐️
In my first job in DSW they used to allocate the (infrequent) overtime to give first dibs to the longest serving CAs. I thought that was unfair as they were already earning quite a bit more per hour than us newbies.
Is there a thread with the latest campaign that started a month or two ago? not sure if it was a campaign, it was labelled clerical officer panel I think
You can apply for mobility, but it takes minimum of 2 years, OR you can apply to the new CO campaign when it comes up. Other than that there is little you can do 😕
If you get an offer is it via public jobs messaging or will they call?
The Dublin only CO panel? I'm on that and a few others too have been posting here.
You get notification of assignment and your department through your public jobs messages. HR from your assigned department will contact you re start date, etc.
Passed the interview but have to wait for a vacancy, my oom stays the same in the 90s.
Passed interview too
In batch 1, does any one know how many is in a batch
Just got my result this morning that I passed.
My interview was last Wednesday the 14th December. I keeping the same OOM of 190 so I will have to just wait till a position comes available. Last competition it took 3 months after passing the interview for me to placed in the Revenue. The clearance, garda vetting and reference part can take a few months. Hopefully I will get my position by February.
Good luck to everyone else doing interviews.
Seeing as my OOM is 190 and I am in the same batch as you and others above maybe it’s a batch of 200ish ? 🤔 my interview was Wednesday and they went on till Friday.
I am in the same situation as you.
I was placed in my department in August. I am deeply unhappy. I couldn’t possibly stay here 2 years waiting for a transfer. My friends who are all in the civil service too pushed me to try this new competition in hope I would get out and get into another department quick. Luckily I’ve passed my interview and will be put somewhere else in the next few months.
If I didn’t pass the interview again I would have been updating my CV too.
What Dept are you in, what don't you like about it?
“ message no longer available “
Fingers crossed you get a place that suits you.
@Mariekk123 I am starting in revenue as well in Jan in kilkenny
Does anyone know how many applied for the new Dublin CO panel?
Pas told me the comp will be extended past Jan but a decision hasn't been made to what date yet @barryos1505
Well over 3k anyway.
Sorry to hear you’re not happy. Just reading posts further on I see you’re in revenue. I actually spent three years in revenue and absolutely loved it. But I was a long commute away from home and getting nowhere on mobility. So I had to leave and come back in closer to home… it’s awful in my place at the minute. Horrible management. No flexibility. Sitting here at my desk counting the days until Christmas. I’ll be spending the holidays applying for new jobs. It’s awful really because my revenue dept was brilliant. I absolutely loved it
Thanks a mill. I love your user name btw
I wish I came up with it but I googled funny usernames and robbed it 😁
Yes I did a couple of weeks ago! :)
Pre clearance and E vetting for the dublin Co just arrived
Same got mine today.
I haven't received anything yet... was told they'd start in January. I am between 10 and 20 oom. So I believe you're both in the top 10 oom, correct?
Oh my, I received it too, I had just missed the e-mail notification 🙂
I’m around the 130 mark, I got my pre clearance and e vetting too. You might want to double check your messages on publicjobs.ie
No Im 90s, have you logged onto public jobs?
Edit seen your 2nd reply.
I know 3 people in the department of social protection at the minute and there's no shortage of overtime. Evenings and Saturdays. If you want to work it's there for you. Huge backlogs in applications for payments.
Got my Garda vetting and forms yesterday too. Returned them straight away as I know from the last time it takes weeks and there is another Garda vetting link they will send us too to complete. As I am already in the civil service I don’t have to go asking for a reference and clearance said they will take care of that for me from HR.
I’m delighted with that as last time it was a nightmare trying to get my previous employer to return the reference forms on time . They go back 2 years for employment reference so have them ready.
The last step of the process will be what department. I didn’t find out where I was going till 3 weeks before I started. The wait to find out was a killer ha
