Don't mind those HiMars approaching here's a clown to entertain you
Regardless of where the frontline lays at of this, there there is a clear winner, and clear loser in this conflict, and they are Ukraine & Russia respectively.
Ukraine started the conflict ripe for division down linguistic lines, with general apathy to their fate from the West. Their national identity is now galvanised, transcends language, and they enjoy near universal support. Their membership into the likes of the EU is now merely a matter of time while their integration with the Western World is inevitable. They have finally shaken off the Russian / Soviet Empire and can by the looks of things look forward to carving their own future in the world. In this respect, they have already won.
The Russian Federation started this conflict with the one card they have always had to use against the world; the threat of war. They could have gone even more years waving around this threat without actually doing anything, but foolishly they actually did it, and now that card is gone forever. Finland is no longer neutral, their traditional allies can no longer be so openly, and their only reliable allies are Iran and the Democratic Peoples Republic of F***ing Korea. They are a basket case, fattened by decades of feeding off the West and are now mostly cut off. Their precious Nordstreem pipes are destined to be scrap metal and their gas customers have accelerated the search for replacements. Russia has lost. They will continue to lose until (and if) they come to their senses, and even if they do, their they just threw a hand grenade into a demographic timebomb that was already ticking. In a couple of generations, the Russian Federation might be a gigantic conurbation of Ghost Cities.
We all want peace, but if Russia want a future, they need to withdraw now and figure out a way to make up for all they have done.
Speaking of HIMARS and Ukrainian humour:
I've have put on the back:
Orcs roasting on an open fire 🤣
Love it
Oh god damn it…likely too late to get for Christmas now… oh well, next year.
Russia has always had a magical ability to unite nations - against them. No-one likes a bully.
This isn't bad either:
Lithuanian opera singers singing Oh The Red Viburnam in the Meadow.
What Bakhmut offensive doing......?
Blue one of those in the post for me, fingers crossed I can wear it for Christmas day.
Ah no, This cant be true. After all we have posters on here claiming that the cold and conditions will affect ALL soldiers the same way. If this is the case why according to the this post:- https://www.boards.ie/discussion/comment/120009579#Comment_120009579 are they saying that the Russian troops are leaving en-masse, and most stay only at gunpoint? Hard to blame them, no winter gear, food shortages, salary's not being paid, little or no medical help available.
There was a post on a Telegram channel about how the Orcs were searching for and stealing all the musical instruments they could find so their troops could entertain themselves with them.
...
Someone in Kherson just dodged more than just a bullet.
And on the other hand those Nrs will be more than matched by the millions of Russians that will be trying to escape what's left of Russia. Only to find that they will not be welcome anywhere,,not even by their erstwhile pals in Iran and Nth Korea, with Turkey being the exception ( but that will be limited to the oligarchs ) The majority of Russians will be left at home to pick up the tab that Putin left behind.
Panfries and smoking again
Tis a bit smokey .
Russia orders Serbian thugs to attack. Two days later they attack.
Any who follow Russian orders in the Eu should be deported to Russia.
This is good news - if the Swiss armaments industry are going to be as useless as the tits on a bull when things matter. Then time to cut them out of the equation and hit them them in the pockets. Do they think they're safe in the centre of Europe, who'd come to the help of useless neighbours like the Swiss.
Wonder what he did (or in the case of Putin, he did not do? ) or will we ever know? Possibly sometime after Putins demise???
I think there needs to be a lot of weapons/ammo manufacturing ramped up, loads of countries are (re)arming themselves so there's a backlog of orders everywhere - not sure how much longer Ukraine can be supplied if production doesn't increase dramatically. That's assuming the war doesn't end soon, of course.
But most of the big orders or biggest orders is for US and other Western equipment and defense systems ,or trying to negotiate give us new toys and we will send the old toys to Ukraine,
THAT! is beyond fucked up!
Kremlin actors in Moscow looking for media attention waving Serbian and Russian flags.
Desperate Dans looking for a second front and distraction from home and abroad of the war in Ukraine.
If you dig trenches and then you hide in them are you not just conveniently accumulating men in a nice line for drones to efficiently kill them? I don't get it, it's not ww1
That's exactly the comment made on Sky News (90 seconds in) and I'd imagine the HIMARS M30A1 rockets and the top attack 155mm arty shells will be key to clearing those trenches. Drones with thermal cameras will be able to scan and spot with ease. Fly right over the trench, send the GPS location to the artillery unit and bobs your uncle. Anyone thinking nepalm bombs dropped from drones would be better vs dug in soliders?
If such a thing was so simple, this war would already be over.
Artillery. It is very like WWI in places.
It has been reported here a few times in the past but I thought if the 'Washington Post' is carrying the story again I would mention it again.
Russia's 200 separate rifle brigade was decimated. They went into Ukraine with 1400 and now the number left is not correctly known.
That was the Unit that was sent to Syria. Russia, most likely now has less than 900 elite troops left in its entire country. Put another way, a busload of wide boys from the Bronx could walk on Moscow next week and not much would stop them.
And yet, we're all okay with this.
World's worst job being an infantryman in Bakhmut.
It's only sad when Ukrainians get killed
I feel sad for many of the Russians too, just not as much.
