Have Brighton ever had a World Cup winner play for them.
Jesus they are dragging this out.
There was no dispute beforehand anyway.
Shte talk to think one trophy changes anything.
..
Christ.. they made him wear a cape to lift the trophy.
I'd be pissed off if I was Messi
I dont like him, but making him wear a cape is bloody insulting to him and Argentina. Looks stupid as well.
They also pay him 100's of millions I think he will be OK wearing it.
No
I know he is royalty, but that robe for Messi was ridiculous.
Just as well that him kissing the trophy after getting his player of the tournament image will be the iconic one.
Great final , and delighted for Messi, but once again Infantino tried to make it all about him - what a complete twat
Southgate and England didn't go home empty handed they won the Fair Play Trophy.
Why you say no?
No other Brighton player has won a WC, and Alexis Macailister is the first Brighton player.
I'd say Messi was likely tipped off before the award that he'll have to wear that stupid negligee lifting the trophy, so took the opportunity to kiss the trophy beforehand to get the iconic photo.
I will take it, a trophy is a trophy!
Not sure if mentioned here, but that's probably the only case I can remember where the winning penalty taker WASN'T mobbed by his teammates.
That carry on with Infantino in the award cermony was worse than when Charlie Haughey 'won' the Tour De France in 1987.
Sorry, misread the q
Can't remember another tournament where the host pushes this kinda bllsht.
If North Korea diverted some of their missile money towards a push to host we could see it again, they might even have a chance of winning it!
You could also be sure Messi would be head of the line to take the money from North Korea to promote it.
This World Cup alone he is being paid 100's of millions by Qatar & Saudi.
..... of a South American side.
He has form though
You must tell me what game you were watching, because it clearly wasn't the World Cup Final, or perhaps, you only watch one game every 4 years.
Is it just me or does Emi Martinez look like Martin Keown?
I thought I imagined it, but it did happen!
There was very little **** housery tonight, I thought. Plenty of hard tackles, plenty over the edge that were punished. But I felt the ref did a great job.
Did not see it what happened. Had to go Christmas visiting
Any thoughts on the RTE Panel's selections for team of players of the tournament?
Haven't they been telling the people there that they've been winning World cups and bossing Olympics and the likes since the beginning of the Kim dynasty?
