Real shame Giroud's knee couldn't hold up... he's exactly the man you'd want up front as Argentina inevitably (theoretically at least) start sitting back a bit and France start knocking in balls.

This is easily France's worst game of the tournament. Has that virus been a bigger deal than they let on? Even the usually reliable Griezmann has been off it.

That is the joke FIFA and Qatar have been giving attendances bigger than the grounds themselves throughtout this World Cup and just looking at every game on TV you can see none have even fully sold out and VIP section of this final is 3/4's empty for much of this game.
They've never really pushed themselves throughout the tournament, and are really lacking that bit of momentum now. Always doing enough, but never more-than. That sort of laissez-faire approach really hurting them now against a better team than they'd faced before.
