I’ll risk it 🤪
So their claim to how great the Russians are, is how good they are at dying?
Weird, weird, weird drunken country.
Is Putin in the NFT business like his pal Donald?
I like to watch Peter Zeihans videos especially when he's talking about Ukraine but just at the end of this one it left me speechless and just in shock. Where he mentions the Russians had torture chambers for Children! I really don't know what to say and I don't doubt him. What the actual f**k! How can something like this happen in Europe 2022AD
She's a he
Does that suggest they will blow the dam?
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz: "Our goal is for Russia to end its war and preserve Ukraine's integrity." "This will require talks." "Whether it will be by phone, video call, or at a long table will reveal itself."
No talk needed stop attacking and leave. That's giving legitimacy for the invasion. What is there to talk about ? Code for we want our gas back.
It's a possibility it was claimed they had mined and rigged the dam with explosiovies,so I wouldn't put it past them ,but if they are planning a counter attack on kiev in the new year, Russia needs in infrastructure and bridges intact
Before Ukraine took Kherson the Russians were building fortifications in Crimea. Their plan is likely to retreat there slowly, with the knowledge they are not capable of holding ground north of Crimea.
And again.
Why can't it be Putin some day, tripping on stairs, falling from windows, hanging, shooting themselves.
If I was a Russian business person outside Russia I definitely wouldn't want a security team from Russia.
Rashist, Ukraine war, spooks, murdering, current society.
A lot of suspect deaths. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Russian_businessmen_mystery_deaths
I see in the replies a mention of Ivana Trump falling down stairs in July and dying from her injuries.
I didn't hear that till now. I wonder had she Russian heritage?
Good opinion piece in the Guardian about how Putin is singlehandedly destroying Russian "culture" and turning the entire Russian speaking world in eastern Europe against it. Most people in neighbouring countries now associate his regime with thuggery and fascism. The long term damage to the country's image is incalculable.
I used to love listening to the Russian's singing their national anthem in films. Like the Hunt for the Red October, I never understood a word of it, but the dialect was really pleasant. Now that kinda sickens me (some of my liking to it stemmed from them ending up on the right side in WWII etc..)
Gladly I've now been introduced to the Ukrainian language and when I hear them sing their national anthem or 'Oi u luzi chervona kalyna' I get goose bumps (reminds me of the Spanish Bella Ciao). I never understood why Americans were so proud of their flag, hanging it everywhere etc.... but I see why now in what Ukraine are going through.
If Russia or Putin has destroyed Russian culture, he has also aided President Zelenskyy and the entire Ukrainian population to elevate Ukraine culture right to the top. Their songs, their spirit, their traditional clothing and I will say the Borscht looks damn tempting.
Who doesn't want to visit Kyiv and Odessa when Ukraine win?
Well, in fairness, he DID fall down the stairs..... But didn't die..... Just sh!t his pants....
"Who doesn't want to visit Kyiv and Odessa when Ukraine win?"
THIS. When we saw the first signs that Ukraine is gonna make it, we said straight away it will be our first international trip when its all over, to support the Ukraine and to show our snowflake kids the real life.
And theres gonna be millions like us.
Slava ukraini!!!
That video really hits home for me on so many levels. The footage from Kherson when they were just taken under Russian control so many months ago and they were still marching flags in hand and protesting, the same song that a Ukrainian group of soldiers sang with a solider with an instrument right before the successful Kharkiv liberation. The fact that Eastern European countries (Poland, Estonia etc...) have been so accommodating, more so than western ones. This is what the EU is all about, it's that solidarity (and yes it can do and should do so much more).
Indeed, the Ukrainians seem very European in culture and temperament - similar to the Poles, the Czechs etc. They 100% belong in the EU.
The Russkis are a total basket case in comparison, it scarcely seems like a European country at all - more like North Korea or some Orwellian dictatorship, with its lack of respect for common decency and human rights and callous indifference even to its own citizens. Everything about them is a sham, with their garbled rewriting of their own history and supposed greatness.
Jury is still out on Poland for me. It seems like they want the benefits but not the responsibility of EU membership right now. Do they recognize the authority of the eu supreme court and have they completely politicized their judiciary?
There's still a lot to get through that this war doesn't change. It's all well and good enjoying the benefits of being a net beneficiary but you have to tow the line and I would question their commitment to being a net contributor when the time comes, given they want to rule eu treaties unconstitutional when it suits them
Going to take time - June '23 - but Germany are going to start making its own ammunition that it can transfer to Ukraine.
This will bypass the sickening Swiss denial of ammunition made in Switzerland being sent to Ukraine. This will effectively rival Swiss armaments in the long run, and we know how much the Swiss hate losing out on war money.
With all due respect to the poles who came to Ireland around 06 they where more decent hard working than any of the other eastern European nationals
And more under threat now if eu doesn't keep supporting Ukraine
Personally, I think Russia will probably win out in the end. (if there is even a clear "winner" at all)
But I'd still be more than happy to visit Kyiv or Odessa after the war ends. I've been to both, and Odessa in particular is a really interesting and beautiful city. Hopefully we'll see some sort of peace deal in the near future, and these things will become a realistic possibility again.
The EU sumpreme court has been politicized and overstepped its origninal remit by some magnitude now, The Poles are dead right to challenge
Russia can only win if the west abandons Ukraine and decides that Russia should be let win. The Russian military have already been defeated as an offensive force.
It’s hard to see how Russia can win this. It would mean NATO/ West losing its proxy war. That isn’t going to happen,
But, if we were to live in an alternate universe where the gangster Russian state won, it would be very stupid of a Western person to visit Russia/Ukraine. The Russians love to take western hostages, and a travel advisory from western governments would likely remain.
Thankfully, that’s very unlikely… so, Odessa is somewhere worth considering in time.
Considering your usual ultra pro EU stance I’m surprised at this comment.
Bollix ......
Will Putin send his daughters to toss around their panties or will he send his sons dressed in drag.... taking bets now!
... maybe he can just send on those boys paychecks and a tin of bachelor's beans [FBI...Finest Beans in Ireland]
The last couple of paragraphs are going to be tough reading for Francie.
