Ed Smith mentioned last night that he was meeting with the boss and would have some news about his show during the week ,hopefully its good news!
I've liked him when he's been a guest, but he's not the best at hosting yet... dead air too often, and he goes on about things for too long. Just hear him earlier mispronouncing Nollaig na mBan and reading out something with incredulity that he'd found that describes the day. No, man, that's literally what it was, and still is, in parts of the country...
Not back til the 9th. He said that himself just before Christmas.
Yeah I’m sure he was. The stand-in (Quilty) is very hard on the ears.
Where's Ray Foley this week? Thought I heard ads last week saying he was due back on Tuesday 2nd
Sick leave is a legal entitlement
Never realised bonding with a newborn child is regarded as a sickness.
If I remember correctly, she left altogether and her Instagram shows she’s had a baby since then. The job was re-advertised over the summer so she would have applied to go back, the same as anyone else.
Agreed.
I thought she had left Ian's show though? Didn't she start her own Saturday show and give up the morning show.
Shona O'Reilly back on with Ian Dempsey. The show is ten times better with her on air, she's great craic
😂 “Given away” would suggest it was Bauer’s own money…..
If anything, it'll be ramped up this year.
Expect to see bigger totals.
They have given away over 4 million in 2022, I'd say they make quite a bit off it so won't be doing away with it too soon.
When is the cash machine going to end?Sick of them advertising it on every show.Just play good music.
TodayFM has been decent all week good mixture of music and not banging on about the cash machine every hour, back to normality next week unfortunately!
Mad he needs to play some ridiculous over the top version of himself in order to get listeners (or so he thinks at least)
Ray Foley is covering the lunchtime slot today. He's by himself. He's just being a DJ, keeping the content creation/news/"banter" to a minimum. He hasn't repeated a "joke" or funny line 6 times, he hasn't pressed a button multiple times to generate an idiotic sound effect. And he's actually perfectly listenable to like this! Back to normal on Monday or Tuesday, I assume, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts!
The stand in DJ this morning reckons there's a couple trying to get Last Christmas banned, and they "don't give a ****" that other people like the song... which is refreshing! 🤣

Ed's Alternative Christmas Playlist minus Granville Williams and The Beatles. Happy Christmas!
They played Girls and Boys by Blur a few times a day for a few weeks around the time the tickets went on sale for next year's concert. A few Bob from the promoters no doubt.
So lazy they couldn't even make an effort to play something else from Blur.
How do they decide on the playlists on today's?
Over the last week or two, I have heard Brimful of Asha and A Little Less Conversation about 4 times each.
Do they dust down an old classic or two, play it a few times, then consign it to the drawer again for a few years?
Congratulations
Pity! In fairness she deserves a break, was filling in on every second show there at one point over the summer!
Hopefully Kelly Ann Byrne has a NYE show on the face radio, has had a good one the last couple of years
Listening back to last nights show and she said she's not back on until 7 Jan. Shame
Possibly a broadcast of this on one of Bauers channels in the UK?
It's called Andrew Ridgeleys Christmas in the RTE Guide anyway.
Ah feck sake, that's disappointing. Hopefully it's wrong.
Andrew Ridgely?!
Dara Quilty first thing in the morning...
*shivers*
No Claire Beck over Christmas?? Thought she would at least do a NYE show.
Yep they're in the RTE Guide.
