Comedian Benny Hill was rumoured to have been buried with a valuable quantity of gold and jewellery. He was worth about £7m at the time of his death. As a result, his grave was dug open and robbed 6 months after he died. It's one of the last known such cases in the UK.
Some bodies of sexual offenders or gangsters have been exhumed and reburied in secret plots after the graves were consistently desecrated, but Benny Hill's was one of the last to be robbed in this manner in the UK. They poured a 30cm reinforced concrete slab over the coffin to prevent it happening again.
