You may think so but lidl have a huge marketing and research team and i suspect they know what they are doing, ireland was the only country operating a scratch and win freebie system to boost numbers on the app and now we are like the rest of the countries in europe with lidl plus and just getting a discount on selected items. Some countries offer an integrated payment system in the app to complete the checkout, i think spain and poland are on that system.
only time will tell, people said tesco made a mistake not accepting other shops vouchers anymore but they didnt seem to suffer long term.

In Germany, for example, Lidl doesn't have a unique selling proposition. In Ireland, Lidl and Aldi were the discounters undercutting the other chains.
Lidl was trying to be different with the app too. Hard to see the difference now. In fact, I've been so mindlessly doing all my shopping at Lidl, that I didn't notice how much better value there is in other shops, on particular items. Prices are all over the place, but there are big differences between the different chains. It pays to check.

It always pays to shop around for the various bargains and special offers but going by Kantar Lidl and Aldi are still the cheapest overall but obviously it depends what you buy

I noticed that too, recently I bought briquettes and was charged a higher price than was advertised on the floor.
I spotted it before I paid and mentioned it, and you would think I had taken her first born son, the attitude I got. Took nearly five minutes to get a “decision” and was still short changed on the refund. At that stage, I had lost interest and perhaps being overcharged is a small price to pay, to escape the attitude.
Imo, Lidl prices are now like other retailers…….the price you see on the floor is an indicator of what you may be charged.
Don't let that put you off. It was you that should of been given attitude, as not only are you getting ripoff inflation prices but now you are getting charged over the prices displayed, which is happening alot more.
It happened to me the other day but instead of going in I sent a message to customer services through the app. They sent me €1 credit.
Everybody needs to make lidl aware of this scandalous carry on, and don't let them away with it.
We are getting robbed left right and centre as it is, so if mistakes are made I will surely be telling them.
It's up to the retailers to display the correct price and it's up to the consumer to point it out. Otherwise they will just say they were not aware of this.
Do you think in Germany a German person will let them away with 1 cent. I sdon't shink so.
